Yeah, he talks about economic systems like they were discovered and implemented by researchers as if it’s an engineering problem. It’s a real cart-before-the-horse framing; these systems grew out of people’s behaviors, and researchers just noticed and wrote about the trends that already existed.
Capitalism was invented by Marx.
