a bunch more are being made
I want more of these in California
This wind farm generates 130-megawatt (MW)
first
oof, but at least it’s happening.
Build them in Lake Erie
You ever see one of the turbine blades up close? They’re huge. At least the length of 1.5 semi trucks
There is an amazing video of one on a loooong semi trailer trying to take a tight turn in a city that is very impressive
In Southampton and the Isle of Wight where they were being made they had to put them on special barges. The old Edwardian layout of the streets were too light.
oh yeah! The offshore ones are especially giant!!
Yep. A family member worked for Vestas. 30 feet at the time, though they make them much bigger now. They even have ways of recycling them but the UK government wont give them the right to open a processing plant.
We’ve got a few around the UK. They look amazing from the beach, like giants in a distance waving at us. On really windy days it powers our grid down here.
Careful with that analogy. Might tempt the Don again.
