Loved that Tchaikovsky trilogy! Like a mix between Firefly and The Culture
The Trilogy was definitely enjoyable. I also found the characters to be engaging.
Mentioning the culture means I have to read it now.
There are 10 of them, and some are better than others! Maybe you’ll enjoy them?
Some books I’ve read this year:
- Noise: a flaw in human judgement
- Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency
- Cultish
- Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less
- The Stand
- Everything is F*cked
I read Hail Mary last year and remember enjoying it, though I went in blind. Afterwards I read the blurb and it gave away something that happens in the middle of the book, which I wasn’t expecting to happen because I knew nothing about the book. So I advise going in blind if you can.
My favourite book this year was Children of Time (I read the whole trilogy!) so I definitely need to check out Shards of Earth
I am thinking of trying that book when I next get into the mood for scifi.
