“Even the fan fiction?”
“Especially the fan fiction.”
Reminds me of the time in a reddit thread someone asked why the Enterprise never used shuttle bay one and Wil Wheaton chimed in with “one time Worf got drunk off his forehead on Romulan ale and took a giant Klingon dump in the middle of shuttle bay one and we haven’t quite been able to get the smell out since” and I’ve accepted this as canon since.
What I’m saying is if either Alexander Siddig or Andrew Robinson suggest that Bashir and Garak might have hooked up at least once it’s going to be official canon forever no matter how much Trek writers try to deny it.
And finally, last year — two decades after the series ended — the actors who played Garak and Bashir reunited for readings of fan-written scripts, including one on which their characters are married.
Good enough for me lmao
This has been the lifeblood of every fandom’s fanfiction for so long… I’m always surprised when I don’t hear about it.
Everything lower decks has done with DS9 has been gold and I’m waiting for Basheer and Garak and whatever Nog and Jake are up to most of all.
I’m not sure how I would feel about Nog showing up not voiced by Aaron Eisenberg.
TIL, RIP Nog
They absolutely banged hard.
The book looks like Badgey
Of course the evil character wants to stop it (cough Rick Berman cough)
Let’s call the book “Bermy”.
People are posting fan fiction of them together? That’s disgusting! Where? I need to make sure I avoid it.
In this day and age two dudes can’t have some kind of interesting relationship without “relationship” immediately meaning they somehow have to be gay and into each other romantically.
For sure.
But Andrew Robinson has been pretty open about the fact that he played Garak as being sexually attracted to Bashir, and DS9 writer, Robert Hewitt Wolfe, has said that he had that in mind when writing scenes between the two characters.
Fans and their shipping powers know no bounds. Then the artists get involved and we all tremble with fear.
