Ich weiß nicht was ich davon halten soll, als beehaw-User würde es mich auf jeden Fall glaube ich ziemlich nerven und mich dazu bewegen, mich stattdessen auf lemmy.world oder sh.itjust.works zu registrieren. Ich bin jedenfalls froh, als feddit.de User nicht direkt betroffen zu sein, auch wenn das Ganze wahrscheinlich eher zu mehr Fragmentation führen wird und mich somit früher oder später doch betreffen wird.

Das kann ich grundsätzlich auch gut nachvollziehen. Ich als neuer User sehe das aber durchaus auch kritisch. Natürlich kann ich mir auf jeder Lemmy Instanz einen Account machen, aber das ist ja eigentlich nicht Sinn der Sache. Die Frage ist ja, wer entscheidet über die Föderation, wird das von Usern gefordert / gesteuert oder ist das eine einsame Entscheidung der Admins? Wer trifft die Entscheidung? Wenn es natürlich um Dinge geht (z.B. Pornografie, etc.), die hier auf einer deutschen Domain zu rechtlichen Problemen führen können, ist natürlich der Admin als Betreiber der “Bestimmer”, keine Frage. Ich überschaue aber gerade nicht, warum genau beehaw die komplette Föderation mit zwei großen Lemmy Instanzen blockt. Ich weiß, wir als Newbies sehen das vielleicht etwas zu eng, aber ich würde das gerne verstehen.

Ich denke, jede Instanz bestimmt selbst, wie sie sich selbst verwaltet. Eine basisdemokratische Instanz wäre bestimmt auch möglich
