I actually gave them the same ratio, must’ve calculated them wrong…

Anyways, the Imperium isn’t actually trying to win. or at least, the Padishah Kaiserin isn’t trying to win. It’s actually part of the golden path, which is a way she calculated to throw the world into socialism in order to prevent the destruction of humanity. The Reserves in this case are filled with despair, so they kind of want to die.

And the Red Army isn’t completely civilian, they have some basic training, just not as much as a professional force. After the basic collapse of western civilization, it was sort of formed from soldiers and volunteers from across the world. And the Reserves are even more garbage, as this paragraph from the fanfic itself suggests:

Despair Speakers are elite soldiers who also function as despair priests, and they’re basically reskinned Sardaukar. Their name is also a Dune reference (fish speakers).

edit: the red army doesn’t belong to a specific country, it’s more like a general resistance force.

I see, that’s certainly an interesting reason behind a war. Kinda accelerationist, that’s sus.

Is there some kind of ritualized human sacrifice in this religion ?

I’m not really a fan of Dune, so I don’t understand a lot of references, but I get the idea about the Speakers. (After visiting the wiki)
