I think if you can afford to own a $91M castle, you can probably afford the installation of whatever climate control systems you desire.

That’s a fair question. My most honest answer isn’t a very good one: I can’t stand it.
Linguistically, I don’t get it. “Fixing to” doesn’t seem to offer any benefit over “about to” or “going to” and as far as I can tell it doesn’t have any logical meaning at all.
Fair enough. I do think that connotation doesn’t necessarily carry over to the “gonna” and “finna” forms, but it’s a good point.
That said, “fixing to” still grates on my brain in ways I can’t begin to describe.
“Going to” is far superior to “fixing to,” so I don’t know what you are talking about.

What the heck is the origin of this meme template? And am I the only one who thought this was Roger Stone?

But no country on earth should have a law that can be interpreted in such a way that a citizen can be charged with terrorism for holding a camera. That’s not “more strict,” that’s runaway oppression.
More confused now than I was before.
AugustWest@lemmy.worldtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•Mall Ninjas got coppettitionEnglish10·17 days agoIt is never illegal to film cops in the US unless you are breaking another law in order to do it (ex: filming their tiny peepee by zooming into their bedroom window). If they are in public or in any private place where you are not trespassing, you can film.
What insane place do you live in that holding a camera constitutes as terrorism?
AugustWest@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Kid gave a reasonable answer without all the math bullshit14·18 days agoBecause the teacher is wrong and it’s an idiotic question.
The question asks the child to explain how Marty ate more pizza than Luis. “He didn’t” is not an appropriate answer to that question.
We know that Marty and Louis didn’t eat from the same pizza, because Marty ate 4/6 of a pizza and Luis ate 5/6 of a pizza. We also know that Marty did eat more, because it’s right there in the question.
The only logical answer is that Marty’s pizza is bigger, and so 4/6 of his pizza amounts to more pizza than 5/6 of Luis’s smaller pizza.
The question should have been “Marty ate 4/6 of a pizza and Luis ate 5/6 of a pizza. Explain who ate more pizza.”

There are a ton of cool unbelievably ornate firearms, armor items, and other weaponry at the Museo Nazionale Del Bargello in Florence. If you think this is cool and get the chance, highly recommend.
