Remember when the craziest news was that Trump nominated him for Attorney General?
I have sympathy for her and people in similar situations and take issue with any suggestion that they deserves this. But I also can’t help but feel her plea for unity is disingenuous and hypocritical. It’s great that she’s seemingly on board with unity against fascism now but going forward I don’t trust she or people like her will have anybody’s back but their own.
They aren’t powerless though. The Republicans only have a slim majority. It would currently take only 4 Republicans in either chamber to kill any legislation (so long as no Dems also flipped).
It never seems to be a problem for Republicans to get in the way of legislation when they’re in the minority.
There’s nothing wrong with encouraging others to be better versions of themselves. The problem is many people aren’t capable of doing so without being toxic AF.
I have a core memory of chipping away at the brick of what had previously been powdered Gatorade that had since formed into a single solid mass after sitting in the pantry for several months.
It’s the first Simpsons episode I remember seeing
For reference, $10M is 1% of $1B. Jeff Bezos is worth $225B, so that would be 1/225 of 1% for him to foot the bill. Considering there are many other multi-billionaires living on that island, that brings our fraction of a single percent of their collective wealth closer and closer to effectively zero.
The greed of billionaires is unfathomable.
Idk I think many Americans are that shallow but I think the majority don’t care about skin color or gender. I think she would have won if the Dems hadn’t tightened the leash and let her run a more progressive campaign instead of forcing her to go into lock step with Biden and campaigning with Cheney.
For anybody not wanting to visit the site. It’s a sign up form to get on the wait-list for his $5m pathway to citizenship.
From an outsider’s perspective, Japanese culture seems to foster a mutual respect for one another as well as for one’s community and environment.
On the contrary, America seems to idealize treating people with contempt unless there’s something you would want from them. Our society is very transactional and if you have nothing of interest to show for yourself then you have no worth to anybody and deserve no respect.
I know this is all a big generalization of two societies consisting of millions of people and this isn’t to say that everybody behaves the same way across both societies. But when you have a general behavior across a society then it’s no surprise that a significant portion of that society will adapt that behavior.
What a sniveling little bitch
I propose we get CO and they can have WI, MI and PA
I’m not a Christian and I’m not sure whether she is either. But when I think about what Jesus would be doing if he were around today, I imagine the situations in which I see Greta putting herself in.
Remember when their own Commander in Chief called service members “suckers and losers”? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
They could be sleeping comfortably in their own beds but instead they’re sleeping on a cold, hard floor at the whim of a tyrant who has no respect for them.
What are you interpreting from this meme? That men aren’t fit to lead because they are generally emotionally unstable? Because I don’t think that’s what this is suggesting at all.
Just that the same argument against women being too emotional is bullshit because we’ve got two men in powerful leadership positions acting like emotion-driven children.
How did their commander in chief put it? Suckers and losers?
They could be sleeping comfortably in their own beds but instead they’re sleeping on a hard floor in a place devoid of any charm at the whim of a tyrant to do his bidding.
You think they care about their children’s well being? It’s all about their own status and legacy to them and their children are just a part of that.
Does green apple count? It feels like an adjective but considering there’s “green apple” flavored candy, I’d consider it a part of the noun.
