Once upon a time there were genuine proletarian immigrants looking to work towards a better future for themselves and their family. But now, most immigrants to western countries are bourgeois and are already rich and just want to cash in on the big bubble before it bursts. In Canada, they overwhelmingly come here just to become slumlords. Cramming 10+ international students…People from the same place as them in some cases… into 2 bedroom “apartments” (most are just loosely repurposed house basements).

I mean…Just pick a country in the global south or even in eastern europe, yeah.

Keep in mind that that number could easily be exaggerated for dramatic effect as a deterrent for future ambitious peasants. Also, just because that particular event didn’t lead to sudden change doesn’t mean it ended the struggle. Eventually, feudalism did indeed come to an end.

That being said, millions die every year due to the depravity of capitalism. Yet, in the west, nobody bats an eye. we are still well insulated compared to the struggles in the global south. They have been fighting for decades already. The pace of change is quickening day by day.

The brainwashing is more to do with wealth/class. Making it seem that if an individual is homeless or poor then it’s solely and purely their fault and not the predatory society/economic model we live in thats dominated by parasites.

A rich drug addict is still seen as a success and positive contributor to society.

A poor/working class drug addict is seen as an abject failure and a drain on society.
