Honestly, I don’t know. The most fun memories I have as a kid were when I was messing around with or on things I shouldn’t have been near at all, but god damn were there a lot of injuries that could have been prevented if something like the roller slide were replaced with a regular slide. But then I probably would have found some other way to hurt myself
Reading this just unlocked a core memory for me. I have no idea where it was, but I can remember going to a playground as a kid that had a slide that was also just rollers. Flinging myself down them to try and go as fast as possible, fingers getting caught between rollers, the zipper of an unzipped coat also getting caught between the rollers, trying to run on the bottom part of the slide where it was flat only to fall and get flung to the ground by the already spinning rollers…
Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to let children play on those?

Yeah, I was really disappointed in the oblivion “remaster” since I could have gotten a similar experience with enough mods, the exact same game but a new coat of paint. And FNV needs more than that, there are so many empty locations that need something in them, but I don’t think that’s what we’ll get. I will be excited that FNV will be back in the spotlight and more people will experience it, but I have a bittersweet taste in my mouth

I randomly saw this game too and knew I had to instantly wishlist it. If this game looks interesting to anyone here, I highly recommend playing A Hat In Time
The story of 1.5 is absolutely insane. Here’s a really well made documentary style video about it. There’s so many people that got their hands on the build of the game and refused to make it public because they wanted to extort money from the community, make a name for themselves by “fixing” the game, or just wanting to be a special lil boy who has the only copy on a rotting disc.

I didn’t even know Dolly sang the original, I’ve only ever heard Whitney’s version. Dolly’s is… slightly better, I think because like you said it is gentler. Still not a fan. Also I hear the Whitney Houston version at least once a day at work, that’s a big reason why I hate the song
There’s entire genres that I don’t like such as country or Christmas music. Specific songs have to be Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney and I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston. Wonderful Christmastime I already don’t like because it’s a Christmas song and almost all of those feel preachy and disingenuous, but a friend described the song as Paul trying out every button and knob on a synth and I can’t unheard that now. I Will Always Love You I just don’t like. The instrumental is there, but that’s all I can say about it since nothing seems to stand out and it just kinda sounds like background noise. And I understand that her vocal work is impressive, but that doesn’t make it a good song. Honestly, the song feels like I’m being yelled at for 4 and a half minutes
