But none for SQLite extensions, which is what the article is about.
with respondents rating it as both a healthier and more environmentally friendly option.
Ok, but is it? I don’t think I’ve heard of it before, but I assume it’s more sustainable and have no idea about the health side.
Even better, those studies are testing dietary fibre generally, not just oats, so anyone eating their daily fruits and vegetables is already getting that benefit.
You mean from the Karen that can’t decide how to spell her own name or the Chad? I’d just assumed it was all made up.
The image is a reference to this analysis done in World War II, which might seem to suggest that the planes need more armour on the wings and tail, but actually shows that these areas aren’t important and that the engines and cockpit need armour if the plane is to survive to make it back to base (where the stats are correlated).
The surviving planes showed a bias in the data that leads to an incorrect conclusion, just like the surviving woody gymnosperms makes it seem like there weren’t non-woody gymnosperms.
Where I’m from it’s spelt centring, but I think Randall’s referring to “doanate”.
Yeah, it’s musique concrète with the samples being airport sounds.
Businesses like having an app on your phone because they can update it to fix bugs, add features, track your activity and send you notifications/ads when they have something new to sell.
Well, not any more by the sound of it.
I remember sites where you could play games and bitcoin was basically used as a score/prize - if I’d spent half my lunch hours playing I’d be set for life nowadays.
A previous version of this claimed that it could distinguish between male and female mosquitos (the ones that bite). It used the different wingbeat frequencies, if memory serves.
It feels that a point-defence system is less harmful than gassing the whole area, which is what e.g. hotels do now.
This was mentioned in the article, although not the fact that it was faked.
I can believe that the tech has improved enough to not need faking this time around.
To ELI5 this, this happens when whoever made the webpage put a text layer above the image - probably on purpose to make it harder for people to download the image.
It didn’t say in the article who the previous five were, so I looked it up:
That’s using the source quoted in the article.
Another source has a longer list:
I can see it, btw. I’m using Voyager on Android and see a spool of blue cable.
Some of this is paving the cowpath - the animated PNG stuff is 20 years old and e.g. Firefox has had support since March 2007.
APNG is what they’re using in v3, so all many libraries need to do* is update that code for HDR.
* surely that’s easy, right?
I fact checked that bite force stat and yup, Giant Panda 1.30 kN vs Lion’s 1.32 kN.
source: nice article quoting Bite forces and evolutionary adaptations to feeding ecology in carnivores (Ecology).
