4·2 days agoLook, ever since I took that cross Canada passenger flight I’ve constantly bragged about my aeronautical skill.
Kept my seatbelt on when the light was lit: AERONAUGHT!
Don’t take this away from me!

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" is impossible, because time changes whenever we try to do the same thing.English
5·2 days agoTime can certainly change the answer to a question without any input from the individual user.
If it ‘can’, it can also ‘cannot’. The idiom refers to doing things where time changing is irrelevant.

Boycott US@lemmy.ca•What the US wants from Canada to keep free trade in placeEnglish
20·3 days agoWe need to smarten up and support our government playing hardball but we’re still being wishy-washy with our support. Lines out the door to get the last bottles of JD? F off. Travel is only down 30%? F off. Stop selling our country to the US one amazon purchase at a time. It will hurt, but it is necessary if you don’t want to become amerikkkun.
Blanket punitive tariffs double whatever the US implements. Want our aluminum, wood and oil? Cut the BS. We’re already recovering by increasing ties, both militarily and economically with the EU.

3·4 days agoWhen a Luigi thread used to hit all on Reddit, 90% of the top comments would be deleted. It’s not even comparable.
I haven’t been on Reddit in years. You’re right that it isn’t compatible if your description is accurate. On Lemmy it isn’t bots deleting everything Luigi like on reddit, it is many communities punishing tacit approval of his alleged actions. By now most have found the safe spaces imo which is why they say there is no problem.

Making stuff up about a problem other people have quipped sarcastically about?
Has it gotten better? Debatable. It’s simply less common now that he’s out of the news cycle but I myself have been banned for posting an image of the bat signal with a Green L in it (on an account whos server closed down).

71·4 days agoWhen Luigi Mangione gets acquitted he should publicly confront all the healthcare CEOs by shaking their hands and staring into their eyes until it gets very uncomfortable.
“now that we’re acquainted, fix this system so you won’t ever see me again”.

33·4 days agoIt’s rarer nowadays, but for a month or so during his arrest news cycle comments, in any article about health related politicians/business/CEOs etc, that mentioned him in any way were punished for ‘advocating violence’
It’s not automatic bot doing it, but is still a too common reason for censorship.

I don’t know what’s more annoying: that this glaring misprint is found right at the beginning of the article, or that neither M$ Word, nor Libreoffice see it as a grammar issue.
