Every time I drive through Houston I see something that makes you say “well that’s the weirdest thing I have ever seen.” The funniest one was back in the 80’s and I was driving home from a concert and a station wagon passed me that had to be doing over 100mph. It had about 18 or more people in it, and they were hanging out of every window including the back. This was a 70’s model wagon so it was literally the size of a barge but it was packed to the gills. Now that in and of itself isn’t too funny, but combine that with the fact that all 4 tires were those baby spares and you have pure gold right there. It was bumping along down the road at high speeds with those tiny little tires just hanging on for dear life along with most of the passengers. I am guessing they were trying to start a trend with the baby spares but it doesn’t seem like it took off. Recently it has been cars with swangers and ones that are absolutely plastered with small figurines or trophies. They just glue them on and hit the open road. Can’t wait to see what is next.

Wow. At the time of me posting this, the majority of people in this discussion might want to step back a little a do a little self introspection. There is a lot of bigotry and hate in these posts for a couple of people that they don’t even know. Which is a little comical as that’s what a lot of people are accusing them of. There is lots of name calling that they are morons and bad people. For all you know they could be someone who has saved one of your loved ones say from an accident, or taught a loved one of yours as a teacher. But because they have an opinion, which they are entitled to, and it doesn’t match yours, they are automatically morons? That’s not how this works. Reminds me of the George Carlin bit where everyone one driving slower than you is an idiot, and everyone driving faster than you is a maniac. OP didn’t do much to help this by setting up these kinds of responses with the initial question and comments. Instead of asking a bunch of random people on the internet who are all in an echo chamber how about sitting down with your parents and just having a conversation with them about it. They did raise you so they should at least get a little credit. But what do I know. My kids have no problem discussing anything with me, and we all know that we are never going to agree 100% on things and that’s ok. They are entitled to their opinion just like we all are. Just because it doesn’t match yours doesn’t make them idiots.

You are correct. My kids are older now and productive citizens. As a gamer myself, they always had access to the latest gaming consoles and all of my older equipment. I never had a problem with them playing as that would have been very hypocritical of me. I think my feelings about kids and tablets are the ages of these kids I see. Very young to be handed a tablet, but I guess you could argue that they won’t be behind when they are forced to use tech like in class. Which is very different than when I grew up. I got an F on a paper once because I did it on a computer. Printed it on a dot matrix and the teacher accused me of cheating because I used a computer. Pissed my Dad off so much he went and bought an Atari 1027 printer which was a letter quality printer so the teacher couldn’t tell that it wasn’t done on a typewriter. Much different times than now where kids are required to use computers. I will be long gone by then, but it would be wild to get to look at society 50 years from now and see how things have changed.

Gotcha. Here’s my experience with tech and kids. When my kids were younger I set up one machine in the house that they could use to access the internet, and on that machine I ran a reverse proxy. They each had 10 websites I would verify and whitelist. They all could access whitelisted websites as I didn’t filter it down to each kid, they just all got 10 sites I would allow, and if that was a problem we could have easily discussed it and modified the number. It was just an arbitrary starting point. Now my kids were fine with it, wife and step kids weren’t fine with my level of restriction but whatever. It caused some arguments but my bio kids knew that’s how it was going to be at my house.

I truly feel for parents today as it is much harder to lock things down and keep on top of things like this especially as their kids get older. Maybe I just think that they should use different ways to distract them at such early ages. I definitely don’t pretend to have the answers to any of this, and can only go by my prior experience and feelings about the matter.

Even if you’re not a journalist, you must have picked up enough stuff by osmosis to know that this isn’t something you should let your kid do without prior research and a look at the settings available.

I was thinking about it, and since you want to count to 05FF, it might be better to load 05FF into the two bytes and use SBC and count down until you hit 0000. Then the 05 isn’t causing more code to test for.

Just going to reply to myself here. I think I am completely wrong on my original reply. You should use ADC. If the byte overflows the carry bit will be set, and then you can test with BCC or BCS.

It has been a while for me, but I think you are going to have to do this all manually. The 6502 is 8bit and you can’t load a 16bit word into the accumulator. Load A $lineL, increment A, store A, then compare it to 0 and beq a routine to increment $lineH, and then also compare that to your ending number. If you are wanting to end in 0x05FF you might also have to put in a compare when $lineL gets to 05 to see if $lineH is FF. I would have to find my atari books, or do some googling.

It’s super simple to put up and take down. :) I have an sd card with the software set up to automatically run the lights when booted. I keep a bluetooth dongle plugged in, and when a cron job recognizes that the bt dongle has been removed it shuts down the rpi. Simple solution and everyone who sees it loves it.

To me it’s more of a boycott of ads, and I am not paying for a service to make that happen, so turning it off is my main option. I am especially perturbed about the ability of companies to advertise and push drugs that require a prescription to obtain. I do have a list of movies to watch from a large dvd collection I have, but I am not in a rush to go through that at the moment.
