  • Well, is there’s no API, people complain that it’s too closed. If there is an API, people complain that it’s too open. If you don’t want AI to see and use your data, don’t post it publicly. Attaching a license or terms could make clear what can and cannot be done with the data, but enforcement will be hard.

My opinion is that having an API is preferable, because anything that is put out there publicly can already be scraped anyway, but an API makes 3rd party clients and other integrations possible, which is a good thing.

  • Without a doubt, that would be the first car I ever owned, a Renault 21 2.0 diesel that was about 12 years old when I bought it in 1999 of thereabouts, for slightly north of € 1000.

It had some rust, but the worst part about it was that it was slow as molasses. It would do 0-100kph in 25 seconds on a good day, with a top speed of 125 on the speedometer. I laughingly called that my highway cruise control 😁

At the same time, I have very fond memories of that car, as it allowed me to visit my then girlfriend (and current wife), and had loads of cargo space. It also handled speed bumps incredibly well, so I didn’t really need to slow down for them. It also helped that I never had any reliability issues with that thing, until it was totaled.

Understandable, but I was sold on it after the free trial. I actually got the results I was looking for most of the time, and I love that you can block/demote/promote certain sites, as well as the search lenses as they call them.

The incognito search url is also practical, searching with Kagi from your incognito browser windows.

No ads, no personalized search bubble, … Worth the money to me. Apparently much of that can also be achieved with SearXNG, according to what people say,but you tried that already.

In retrospect, you could’ve done some things differently. That will always be the conclusion when something doesn’t go the way we want it to. Whether or not those things would’ve helped, nobody can tell. Maybe they would’ve made things worse.

You did your best, and that is what matters. You were there for your children and faced the difficult task of not only coping with your own loss, but also helping your children process their grief and raise them to be the adults they are now. Don’t let your feeling of guilt consume yourself. This is a (first?) step in the right direction.

It’s awful of her mother to blame you, but there’s nothing you can so about that I guess.

The social stuff may be bloat to you, but it helps me to see which friends are online, and let’s me join their games or invite them to mine.

There’s nothing that epic adds that I care about and I refuse to buy their exclusives, because that encourages them even more to keep doing that.

Steam may not be perfect, but it’s pretty damn good. I have enough with GOG and Steam, and don’t want to add multiple storefronts to the list of launchers on my PC.

  • I don’t have an issue with the soft limit on the number of keys, if the limitations aren’t too strict. The way it’s described makes it sound like it’s just to prevent abuse.

I didn’t even have a problem with the price parity, since that’s limited to the sale of said Steam keys on other store platforms, which makes sense. The developer can still hand out keys for free, just not sell them cheaper anywhere else. I would however find it problematic if they also required price parity for sales of non Steam key copies on other stores.

Press “no tip” and sue them for hearing damage…

Seriously though, as a non American I only tip when the service or food was exceptionally good for the given establishment. People do however get paid a decent salary here, so tipping is optional.
