  • There is direction in space. Space is not a formless void there is order and structure to the universe.

The solar system is shaped like a disk. Most planets orbit and revolve to the same axis as the solar system.

When a star trek ship is seen in orbit, like the opening to TOS it is usually shown orbiting with the up of the ship facing the north of the planet, making a left turn with the planet off the port side.

Having a consistent orientation, like up=north would make sense for navigating a solar system. Federation ships in orbit are always shown rotating to face the direction of travel while in orbit. That’s not at all needed to remain in orbit, but having consistent orientation seems important to the federation.

  • I was interested in the lightphone ii because of its small size and eink display. Now its just a big phone with a normal screen like every other.

At this point they might as well just release their os rom so you can get the lightphone expierence without having to buy new hardware.

  • The issue is not that the parts aren’t titanium, its that there isn’t a paper trail documenting the titanium.

This is an issue, because improperly forged titanium can have issues that makes it unsuitably weak for its intended purpose. Having documentation showing where the materials came from, when it was inspected for defects and when it was manufactured is critical for safety.

United flight 232 had an engine explode in part due to defective titanium. This is a real safety concern.

Though the headline says boeing, the article mentions these undocumented parts being found in airbus planes as well. Its an industry problem, not a Boeing specific one.

Recently, a boeing 737 max had an issue where it started dutch rolling in flight. The plane landed safely, but the FAA is investigating.

The dutch roll is an osculating motion that can happen in flight, and can be dangerous if not counteracted. Commercial airliners have a yaw damper which should prevent this from occurring, but something must have gone wrong because it did.

The meme shows only bikes with flat handlebars, like commuter bikes intended for transportation.

Every bike you posted are high performance racing bikes with specialized aerodynamic handlebars.

Different priorities. Triangless bikes with a top bar is not a good idea for commuter bicicles like the ones in the meme.
