I have a strong preference for the German and Swiss types, but I think we can all agree that Japan massively fucked up. They took the already shitty American plug and just forgot about the ground.

e-commerce will be rolled out this summer in Germany, with Belgium and France following in late 2025/early 2026.

Wero is already a thing and it’s straight forward. Even that is too complicated for many people, but it’s gaining traction at least.
Anywho, I’m rooting for both!
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Technology@lemmy.world•Mastercard and Visa face backlash after hundreds of adult games removed from online stores Steam and Itch.ioEnglish31·3 days agoAn alternative to PayPal, called WERO is currently in it’s rollout process in Germany, Belgium and France. In October the next step will be activated, allowing payments in e-commerce. Later down the road, you’ll be able to pay in real shops. Luxembourg and Netherlands are to join in next. More and more banks start to adopt WERO.
I urge everyone to use WERO as much as you can. It’s flying a bit under the radar at the moment and this must be a success. Hopefully more EU members will join soon.

Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Europe@feddit.org•Germany sees loneliness epidemic among young people – DW – 07/26/2025English1·5 days agoHow old are, if I may ask? I haven’t made a whole bunch of new friends for quite some time now, but that’s fairly normal once you’ve become a wageslave. I just don’t have the mental strength for the upkeep of new friendships.
Magic the Gathering is on the rise again, through which I could at least maintain some meetings with cool colleagues from work. So that’s cool I guess.
It really isn’t. It’s way closer to the back of the knee. Let’s not twist facts just because we’d like em that way. Let’s stay credible, ok?
I honestly believe the Fediverse is a good place, exactly because it’s slightly less accessible than mainstream stuff. It keeps the absolute scum of the earth out. The internet turned to shit once everyone all of a sudden could access it. It was a fun place to be when you actually had to know your way around a computer. Now the internet essentially is an app on the fucking phone and even the dumbest mouth breather can access it.
Unfortunately, it’s currently only in Germany, Belgium and France. Netherlands and Luxembourg will join as well. I can only hope that it becomes a success, so it’ll be rolled out in all European countries.

A method of communication that instantly conveys emotions and information, which you can even use while driving a car! How about that ey?
Ibuthyr@feddit.orgto Technology@lemmy.world•‘If I switch it off, my girlfriend might think I’m cheating’: inside the rise of couples location sharingEnglish2·7 days agoIt might have to do with how much Americans must work and sit in a car every day I guess. I suppose that sort of workflow makes sense. But then I’ll definitely chalk it up to America bad. Thats not a life I’d want to live.
Just a friendly reminder that Wero is activated in October for online commerce as a European alternative payment method. Fuck Visa, fuck MasterCard, fuck any of these American companies.
Many people don’t like to hear about the bad things from their heroes. This is why idolizing someone is so stupid. You can like his music and his act around it, but that’s where I stop.

Fuck sharing your location, what kind of dumb shit is this? If anything, sharing your location might actually make them paranoid in the first place, as they might try to interpret things in your movement. The hell is wrong with people? I’ve never heard of this behavior, is this something Americans do?

You kinda forgot about the whole well-functioning society bit there.
