I tried this with zeroPi and jellyfin, bit the Pi seemed constantly overwhelmed with displaying videos, so I got about a frame every 2 seconds (might have been a pi3b). Have you got any clue what the issue might be? It depended a lot on the particular file I wanted to play as well though, but I wasn’t able to find a pattern. Of two matroska/mp4 files one worked well, the other stuttered as hell.

Deswegen ist das Design auch deulich an die Regenbogenflagge angelehnt und taucht auch schonmal in Anlehnung an die Progressflag mit einseitigem Dreieck auf. Vorsicht, Link kann Kotzreiz verursachen.
Although usually I am all for adressing your own impact as well and not only blaming big corporations (they are mostly at fault, but they won’t change a thing as long as they can still blame consumers), I think it is important to aknowledge here how dependent individuals can be on cars. No one can single-handedly revolutionize the public transport and some areas, especially in more rural regions, really need forms of individual transport at present. EVs are not solving the big issues, but in regards to carbon impact you can compensate for their production quite quickly with the CO2 you save in comparison to an ICE car (depending on your local energy mix of course). Burning fuel will never be carbon neutral, using electric energy for transportation can be eventually. Don’t disregard all the solutions which are not perfect but try for gradual improvement.
I thought they usually report that they did it all by themselves, after only getting a very small interest-free 1M$ loan.

Good for you! I got the FP5 with e/OS and I am very happy.
And it is terrible. If you perform this kind of delegation, you have to expect that the other tasks will be shoved back on the priority list and the overall efficiency will decrease. This busy person will need more time overall for the sum of the tasks, because this kind of parallelization will make it harder to work on one task with focus. Also they will burn out eventually. But hey, that’s not management’s problem.

I wish I could do some more reading, I just never do because my higher-ups bombard me with tasks and want me to publish all my results right away no matter how much background I know.
Exactly. This will not have an effect on a regular reviewer who plays by the rules. But if they try to let an LLM do their reviewing job, it is fair to prevent negative consequences for your paper in this way.
Kann denn nicht einmal jemand an die Kinder denken!!
Wasn’t he already on the turtle’s back when questioning the past avatars about his moral conundrum?
Had he chosen to listen to one of them, he would on the next day have still noticed that the island had moved away and found the lion head. But I get your drift, he still searched within his own mind after his friends told him to finish Ozai off.
Very cool! Is that a smaller crater inside Prokofiev?
Kratzkopfto Television@piefed.social•What's the most boring TV series you've ever watched?3·3 months agoI watched all of Game of Thrones but what bothered me from the start was how they ended every episode with a cheap cliffhanger which was resolved quickly in the next episode and had very few significance. The speed of that episode mostly picked up at the end again only to achieve the next cliffhanger.
Yes, I do not believe it. It must be a misprint, right?
I love your enthusiasm! But as someone who works in semiconductor development, I feel a bit like it is time to abandon this branch of the technology tree for now again. Maybe I am just disheartened from the PhD stress, but where does it really lead to right now? Following up on Moore’s Law right now just seems to promise higher efficiency and lower electricity demands while actually that is mainly greenwashing attempt IMO (lower resolution technologies are more energy and resurce efficient when considering resource demand during production; high device density leads usually to increase of the number of transistors which are operated parallely, so while the single FET is more efficient in dynamic operation, the whole chip might have much higher leakage). At the same time this efficiency is used as justification to just increase the calculation load whithout considering if it is useful (e.g. LLMs). Resources might be better allocated for More than Moore/architectural approaches e.g. for neuromorphic computing to actually reduce the immense AI computing load coming up.
Sorry for the rant, I think I gotta quit my job.
