My ex-wife was worse, she was going to put our dog down when we split up. I am not a dog person to begin with, and I was moving to an apartment so I wasn’t planning on taking him to begin with, but it was quite disturbing how nonchalant she was about it. I was looking into rescues, but we ended up giving him to our neighbors. She moved in with her mom, then immediately got a new dog. We also had 3 cats - I could only have two at my apartment, so I took the two boys, she said she would take the girl, which is the one our daughter had picked out and named… But then she ended up giving her to her brothers.
Meanwhile, she keeps trying to find ways to get majority custody of the kids, I have to keep fighting for 50/50…

Still, if like takes a shit on you and you have to give up your pets, that’s a little less traumatic than losing your kids.

Yes, everything about it was extra heavy.
Have you blocked me yet? If not, it might save time to do it now…

I always noticed that too…

I’ll do you one better - why is Aleppo?

That’s the problem though, with old systems like that, the CPU was like 1/10th of the equation, the hardware was far more important. Porting something often involved a full rewrite.

My dad had a DEC something or other that was basically a cube with most of its space being two 8" floppy drives… No clue if it ran cp/m…

My local science museum had a laptop from the '90s on display, with the caption “computing in the 1900s”. My kids asked if that was what I had in school when I was their age, and I had to break the news to them that I was already done with school when those were current…

There are electric cars that are not Teslas…
It’s both, depending on perspective. You emigrate from America to Zimbabwe according to other Americans. To Zimbabweans, you have immigrated to Zimbabwe from America.

This is America, you might as well ask men to cut their balls off …

The timing is unfortunate… I’d like to buy a used EV, and I’ve seen a few I like on carvana with very low miles for cheap… but I’ve been living in an apartment and would have no place to change it… Now I’m buying a house with (among many other things) a 240v outlet in the garage specifically for changing an EV… But it’s going to be a couple weeks, and those used EVs are dwindling…

Seriously? I get yelled at at least once every time I ride. People have thrown drinks at me, spit at me numerous times (though their aim is generally very poor)
I’ve even been run off the road a few times, intentionally (they admitted it after I caught up with them at the next light and confronted them)
a man won’t know a woman doesn’t shave her legs unless he’s intimate with her
What’s the opposite of observant? Because whatever that is, you are.
But not a lot on sunglasses.
I can vouch for that… When my wife was pregnant with our first kid, that was the longest 9 months of my life (well, 8 I guess, since she was a month in before we knew)… Then when our second came along, it wasn’t like that until her 2nd ultrasound, where it looked like there might be a problem… Then time sped up again after the next ultrasound, when they decided it was just a shadow or something and all was fine…
I’m sorry, I shouldn’t laugh, but I can’t help but picture her kneeling, saying “please lord, let it be today…”
I call bullshit. It may be true that there is a peak, but it’s not like after that peak it’s hopeless… I’m 50 years old and I work a job where I literally have to learn an ever changing product in order to support it, and I’m doing fine, I just got promoted to senior so I’m teaching the new hires. I haven’t even been there 5 years yet.
