okay, I just have one question: Who is the target audience here? I really don’t get it. They show a naked elf but the elf looks like that. The show someone with fat-positive disposition but they fat-shame her in the plot.
If my monsters are imagined, why do they trigger the motion sensor lights?

What a difference a studio makes.
Also, capital punishment for bike thiefs sounds like a great idea right about now.
There is a lot more of that coming. There is no way to sugarcoat it. Try to think about it this way: magical toolmaking requires magic and not everyone can just go and become an inventor in that world. So there is a lack of tools that aren’t in higher demand. Stuff that is just convenient instead of a necessity has not been at the forefront of development. It’s a flimsy excuse but that’s what I run with.
The interesting parts should start in this season.
Good adaptation so far. The source starts at a different point in her life and her childhod is told more in memories and flashbacks. That they start there in the anime shows me that the naime will proably respect the slow-burning romance aspect of the source instead of rushing through the material to get to the fan favorites (looking at you, loathsome Bookworm adaptation).
Fair enough. That cat girl was initiated by him. But that makes it a 5 to 1 ratio. And I didn’t get the impression that she wasn’t in a position where she couldn’t simply say “no” when she really didn’t want to play that role.
I like it. I love the derpy design and I can’t wait to have those cute characters come up with fucked up traps to kill human adventurers. This is my favorite till now.
She doesn’t get Touka’s ability right, does she? She was talking about low accuracy, but apparently at least Paralyse hits true all/most of the time.
Well the title of this is "I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells”, so she obviously didn’t get it right. The title already spilled the entire plot. She should have put more attention to her warding items actually going off when MC tried his skills on her. Saying more would be
oh boy, how do I hate those edgy characters and shows. Everyone is evil for the sole sake of showing off how good the MC iis in comparison. And you already know that that one Tenshi-type girl will be a love interest for MC’s harem. To me this is another one of those wanna-be-edgy shows that give me ulcers from second-hand cringe.
I was sceptical on the premise but I think I actually like this a lot. I am unsure though how long this gimmick alone can carry the narrative before I grow tired of it. I hope there will be more to this than just this one dynamic.
I did not get that at all to be honest. Like 0%. To me that was just playful flirting by both sides and clearly innitiated by her to begin with.
She’s played a really wide range of characters so it’s fun to see her in a role that does… exactly that.
She impressed me with her performance. The last time I was impressed by a VAs range was Yuuki Aoi’s double role in Boogiepop.
Some unsorted thoughts I had watching the first episode:
I liked the first half of the show a lot more than the latter. The direction it took towards the end took out all the originality of the early episodes and turned it into just generic idol drama.
That gives me hope. Honestly, if not for the OP I would have dropped it midway through.
I don’t have any particular thoughts on her voice though. She sounded a bit “robotic” but it’s about what I’d expect here. I guess her voice will shift slowly toward the more natural spectrum as she grows more human over time. The same for her expression. At least that’s what I would do if I had a say in the production.
On the other hand, the biggest localization scandal (for lack of a better word) didn’t happen at the translation, it happened when failed YA authors were allowed to rewrite the work, which will still probably be a problem. So it might not do very much good either.
I think this is an important point. If this can take the translator’s ego out of the equation it would be a clear win. But then, they would probably insert it back again in the revision stage. My best case scenario would be that with the AI doing the heavy lifting there is enough human workforce going around so that those type of translators who rewrite the story find themself jobless.
Incredible last episode. The OST for the epic moment was the best I’ve heard this season and I give this episode a full 10/10. With the overall series getting a 9/10. I would have also loved to see a 14th episode with just comfy everything is alright vibes to cap it off.
Holy wow… MC is hard to watch. OP is by Tokino Sora so I want it to become a hit, but I don’t know if I can warm up to that type of MC.
Yeah, but you don’t cater to people with a fat-fetish by having the plot be basically “diet and work out so you can look good again”. It’s so strange.
