Thanks for the heads up in any case.
I haven’t had the chance to check them out yet, but perhaps Black Bolshevik (@theblackbolshevik) and/or Black Red Guard (@betterredthandead9105).
Kids doing something they believe in while everyone else is arguing about whether they are causing too much of an inconvenience.
Meanwhile the planet is on fucking fire, both literally and figuratively.
The “white moderates’” hostilities against activists of any kind because they cause inconvenience or because the truth is uncomfortable, have always plagued movements like these.
The critique doesn’t come from an honest wish to see the movement succeed, they just want activists out of sight and mind.
Edit: And at least JSO are regularly drawing attention to one of the two big climate issues. The other being animal agriculture.
I’ll see if soy curls are available online in my country. I haven’t seen any when shopping for ingredients so far. If it’s basically the same as soy chunks I can probably substitute that. Heart of palms is something I’d have to look around for. Probably won’t be the first idea I try out, but I definitely want to give it a shot at some point. Thanks!
Yeah, it would certainly be scaled down in my case. Working backwards from a somewhat similar recipe is a pretty good idea.
That could also work. I’ve only made it once and it ended up pretty runny, but that shouldn’t cause any real issues in this case.
I’ll try out scrambled tofu for the first time to see if I feel it would work. Thanks for the suggestion.
Steinbeck is awesome, Vonnegut is great as well, Asimov is good, but the misogyny and bigotry of the times tend to shine through. So that’s worth taking into account.
Jessie Gender did a thorough analysis of the essay. @Jammidodger and several others have also gone through it. @ContraPoints, @Shaun_vids and many other youtubers have documented Rowling’s anti-trans shenanigans and how it’s basically become her raison d’être, much like Graham Linehan.
If the intent is to say something about the capitalist/worker relationship, it could be totally rational.
Required Affirmative Action
Edit: Pretty sure those affirmative actions were voluntary. Required Affirmative Action appears to be specific to hiring and training by federal and federally contracted employers.
Disclaimer: Have only seen some commentary and read a couple of articles on it, so it may have slipped me by.
I watched a lot of vids by leftist, trans rights and vegan content creators and drank way too much beer. I.e. business as usual.
I don’t think their software supports federation. In any case that place seemed far too right/lib when I looked at it as an altwrnative to Reddit.
They may not have been directly associated with the kbin promoter(s) that was posting red scare nonsense about lemmy everywhere, but probably got a good amount of second hand help from that.
I only have the gluten flour so far, but I’ll get around to making seitan one of these days.
Samme i Norge.
Hot these days in southern Norway. We might see 30-31C this week apparently.
Luckily we tend to get some clouds in the evening, so the interior gets a chance to cool down a bit before bedtime.
I don’t think the map is very useful for that purpose (getting a list of dozens of instances). It looks neat though.
Presumably the data could be presented in a more useful way, like a list or matrix.
I feel like there’s a joke about planned obsolescence in there. 🤔
