Nice one mate, sounds grand! My kids just cannot play together at the moment - they’re like a pair of magnets and either want what the other one is playing with, or just annoy each other to the point of tears. Telling them “just play with your own toys” lasts about twelve seconds until they can’t resist fucking with each other’s game or toys.
Glad you’re enjoying the barbie weather!
alright mate yeah cheers, how’s yours?
PhobosAnomaly@feddit.ukto UK Politics@feddit.uk•UK prepared to pay to access EU defence programmes55·6 days agoThat would be lovely 😊 buuuut I certainly wouldn’t trust us from the EU perspective.
The UK has it’s “special relationship” with the United States; it’s frequently touting it’s past history with the US; and now suddenly it wants to access a EU defence programme through cash money?
If I were any one of the EU members, I’d be like “nah fella I don’t think so, stop hanging round with your tosser mate and maybe we’ll think about it”
PhobosAnomaly@feddit.ukto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•"With all due respect" could imply that no respect is due and therefore none is given22·7 days agoAnother backhanded “positive action” comment is “I’m going to give that the attention it deserves” and nine times out of ten it will be absolute fucking rot so no, that’s going to the bottom of the list. Cheers though.
Ah I’ve not made it to the lv20 Pun Deployment threshold yet. I’ve been finishing my runs at the end of the route like a clown all this time!
Man when I’m a few miles in to a run, the last thing on my mind is having any form of meaningful conversation, particularly something that needs a bit of time and effort put into it.
I can’t imagine what it would be like to keep putting one foot in front of the other, stay upright, try to not die, and still have to come up with a gentle way of letting someone down.
Next time on “Time and a Place”: asking a pilot out to dinner during an emergency landing.
PhobosAnomaly@feddit.ukto Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Anyone ever want to pirate for moralistic reasons?English7·9 days agoAbsolutely. Chris Brown is a prime example. I quite like some of his collab tunes, but I absolutely refuse to give any money - a percentage or not - to that wifebeating spunktrumpet.
In fact, the fact that I’m actively screwing him out of money makes me enjoy the song more.
I’ve got a BSc from Cambridge.
Apparently the graduate still looking for it wheeeeyyyyy
Do you think there’s a correlation between those who process further up the academia tree; and those who enjoy masochism?
How am I going to wreck the heels of my trainers or give my fingers ungodly numbness and pain then though?
Ridge Racer is all about mastering the handling model. Anything beyond that is mostly having an idea of the circuit.
I just to quite enjoy sticking a quid in the Ridge Racer cabinet in motorway service stations in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, hooning through to win regardless of whether it was a wheel or a stick, and walking away after crossing the line, not even bothering to stay for the name entry.
It was nice being that guy that I was wowed by as a kid in the arcades. Little victories.
Yeah man. For the most part, people are thrown together for an eight or ten or twelve hour stint in work, so I guess you might as well try and get on with the folk you’re paired or teamed with, if only to make the time burn down that little quicker.
Sure, there’s the extreme groups either side of the social spectrum that either want literally nothing to do with you outside what’s mandated by the workplace - that’s fine, that’s their choice. There’s folk who make being at work and entirely social affair - which is fine until their weight isn’t being pulled.
I guess nobody really wants to work, so you might as well turn every possible element into an advantage to make it that bit more bearable - and every now and then you’ll meet a really good spud that turns into a nice person both in work and out. It’s rare, but it does happen.
Workplaces are just a different human setting: there’s assholes, diamonds, liars and lifesavers in equal measure.
Smashing effort. I’ve never been a running natural, I just do it because it’s apparently good for me and cheap as fuck (outside of a decent pair of hooves).
I went and did the Cardiff Bay 5 Mile a few years back, and a pal of mine rolled out of his colleagues place having been out on the piss the previous night, same T-shirt but with shorts on, and just panned in the five miles before going to feel sorry for himself somewhere else. What a machine.
mate good effort, that’s five kilometres more than you’ve done for the last three weeks so it doesn’t matter how long it took. Absolute legend!
magic cheers mate yeah, how are you?
Went out and did a cheeky run today - first one after a minor op a week ago, and my eldest carried on after me and put more than two and a half miles on me.
Absolute legend. Chuffed for him though.
PhobosAnomaly@feddit.ukto BuyFromEU@europe.pub•Euro zone consumers happy to ditch US products if hit by tariffs, study finds2·13 days agoI agree in principle - am I fuck going to foot the bill for America’s drunken foreign policy. I’d much rather pay a few quid over what was the going rate to buy something in the UK (to save postage) or the EU.
That said, looks like companies are using this as a “second-Covid” to mask general price increases, a la Microsoft.
It’s just absolute bullshit. The only thing keeping me with an Xbox One and a Series S was the Cloud Gaming service, but in don’t think I can be arsed with that any more either.
