I love that the argument to, “scientists means smart and smart means Fediverse” is some magical connection made and that this comment basically says, scientist doesn’t really mean anything.

The actual argument to be made here is why in the hell does scientists and Lemmy have to have any connection at all? It is like we are associating that only smart people use the Fediverse. I will never the constant mentality Lemmy’s user base has that you are somehow better if you use the Fediverse. It is that same sort of thinking that makes the Fediverse so niche because the user base can’t grasp that Fediverse apps suck, they are annoying to sign up for. Swapping between instances is annoying in most cases and if you ar not handing your data to a single company you are putting your trust in the hands of those utilizing the Protocol to handle your data.

It is like there is some weird connection the user base on Lemmy just magically makes up to solving all of the worlds problems with big tech or something and then Facebook showed up and could have and talked about entering the Fediverse realm with Threads and everyone freaked out because Facebook would ultimately kill the Fediverse which pokes entire wholes into the Fediverse being the answer. It would just get popular and have the same issues as everything else Lemmy is scared of . Be glad your space is niche.

I just want more NVIDIA support. My first attempt at switching to Linux for gaming was not a smooth one.

I kept having an issue with my monitors freezing. Any community suggestion made just didn’t work at all. It was as if the monitor not only froze but was just turned off. Any UI Element would freeze up and then suddenly my Cursor would only work on the only remaining monitor until that would stop as well

I couldn’t for the life of me figure it out. Tried 2 different OS’s same issue. Was told by the community it was because I had an NVIDIA GPU, 4080. Which is fine except the 2 OS’s tired both had the same issue. I just gave up.

Honestly, I have been using Lemmy since the Reddit API ordeal and the community here over Linux just annoys me. It is this all high and saving OS but why hasn’t it done so yet.

Why does the community and answering questions about Linux suck. They are also one of the few, next to tigers, land predators that actually have a taste for human blood. The nature of a polar bear thinks it can eat it then it will certainly try. You also absolutely cannot out run them.

Design wise maybe, but game play wise, performance wise, mechanic wise.

PalWorld is 100% not lazy in these categories and Pokemon is.

As someone who also owns the original I am absolutely having a blast with the new one.

Oblivion Remastered is fucking awesome though. Blown away it manages to maintain what makes it fun, quirky, and bad and add new fun, quirky, and bad aspects to itself. It has genuinely been a blast to the past as someone who is now an adult that started playing Elder Scrolls as a teen.

I would love to see Morrowind next. Hate all you want Bethesda absolutely picked the perfect Elder Scrolls game to remaster.
