I slept through our house alarm going off
No, it’s a “humanitarian” city, so that probably means that they will do a “precision” airstrike on it at some point. It’s not a concentration camp, it’s a concentrated target.
I’m not watching tv for quality and efficient story telling.
I’m watching it to waste time. The longer the better.
I only spend my audible credits on audiobooks that are 20+ hours long.
There can be an absolutely amazing audiobook that’s 8 hours long but I can’t bring myself to spend my credit on it.
I had to drive a new Toyota Tacoma for a biology job. I needed to drive it in “offroad” conditions, which means there was grass over 12" in height (farm field).
It would automatically slam on the brakes and scare the shit out of me every time I tried to reverse and it thought the grass was something I was going to hit.
Drove me absolutely insane.
He takes us to a creek downhill from a new construction site for a data centre being built by US firm Quality Technology Services (QTS).
George Dietz, a local volunteer, scoops up a sample of the water into a clear plastic bag. It’s cloudy and brown.
Well, maybe they didn’t have proper sediment control but a creek is a lot different than well water. Most people don’t drink out of creeks, sediment control is done more for the purpose of protecting fish habitat.
Hauls buckets of water to flush her toilet
What? You’re concern is sediment in your well water and then go haul dirty brown sediment filled water from the creek to flush your toilet instead?
Buy a sediment filter for your well water. Even people not beside giant data centres should have one just because it keeps the system functional and running better. It is practically a requirement to have one.
And honestly, the vehicle engineers are partly to blame for this in my opinion. Are you telling me there are no sensors in the car to let you know if there is a person in the seat so that their stupid little seatbelt not fasten chimes can ring? If they can tell that there’s a person inside, or that there is still a seatbelt buckled, DON’T TURN THE AC OFF AUTOMATICALLY
I do not condon leaving children alone in a vehicle for ANY amount of time…
But I also absolutely despise vehicle manufacturers thinking their unnecessary “features” are in any way needed at all, especially in a form which cannot be disabled or needs to be disabled after each time the vehicle turns off and then on.
Fucking hate vehicle manufacturer engineers. Probably one of the least needed jobs out there.
VEHICLES ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING THEY NEED, STOP ADDING SHIT EVERY YEAR JUST FOR THE SAKE OF ADDING SHIT.
I can’t say I’m convinced? There are thousands of reasons why the poles could shift. But freshwater makes up such a small fraction of a tiny percentage of the mass on earth that I can’t see it have that large of an effect, especially when only a fraction of a small percentage of the freshwater is being held by dams.
I wonder if you could make a 1m thick foundation of this stuff beneath each house which works as a sort of battery for the house in case power goes out.
I think I would much rather watch a stardew Valley movie than a Minecraft movie
It used to be 1 year for 20 episodes now it’s 2 years for 8
Eh, when it’s problems that could have easily been avoided by not doing something completely unnecessary I lose sympathy
Our neighbours had to get a plumber in to clear their pipes and septic tank because they would poor grease and fat down the drains all the time and ate a lot of meat.
They were in their 60s
You can easily have two people, a man and a woman, with exactly the same traits and quirks and personality, but only be attracted to one of them depending on your sexual orientation.
Eh personally I sort of support this. It’s literally only 50m.
It’s exactly what we needed during COVID with the idiots blocking access to hospitals.
Or people harassing clinics and women over abortions.
What infuriates me even more is when they keep the cancelled shows in the library with no warning.
So 5 years from now someone goes “oh yeah this looks good” and then loves it and subsequently finds out it was cancelled 4 years ago after wondering why the hell it’s taking so long for seasons 2 to come out.
You definitely could, especially with infinite resources, but prioritization also saves money.
If you had a core train that ran all the way from hope to Whistler we probably wouldn’t be needing to spend all this money expanding the highway or even have HOV lanes so it quite possibly could be one or the other, because once the money is spent on HOV lanes people may say a train is too expensive we have no money left.
Need to tackle problems in a specific order, transit is the largest one rather than HOV lanes.
I don’t understand why we can’t have trains ):
That’s not a very good comparison, they were specifically stating they down voted something they thought was harmful and shouldn’t be promoted.
For your example it would be closer to seeing a post written in German but it’s a post saying positive things about Nazis or something.
Then yeah, I would hope people would down vote it.
