There are legitimate business reasons aside from all of the many moral ones not to support bullshit reprehensible creators and by doing so publicly connect your company to them. Are you pricing it as supplied by Framework or the DIY where you can bring your own separately purchased RAM and storage? That could bring the price down. And you can start small and grow it later. And repair it if things go wrong. If you really want a Linux laptop I think DIY framework is the best option you’re going to get at the moment due to the repairability and sustainability. I think the trackpad is perfectly fine. I use headphones on a laptop so I barely remember what the speakers sound like. Or just stick with Apple if you prioritize hardware feel. That’s perfectly valid.

I love my 13". Does exactly what I need. I kind of want the 12", but I don’t really need it. So i’m going to hold off.

Well in case anyone else comes to this looking for a similar solution. I did improve on the second issue. I right clicked on the Activity Bar widget and selected Show Alternatives and chose Activity Manager. That brings the area at the bottom right of the panel to just say the current Activity. I can use shortcuts to swap between them or click on it and choose.
