I think the obvious choice if you want something similar to BG3 would be the other RPGs from Larian. DOS:EE and DOS2:DE are both coop, both round based RPGs and can both be run on Linux. While DOS2 is definitely the better one of the two (and in fact the reason why Larian was contracted for BG3) it could be hard for the AM3, depending on the exact type. But even the first game is just a very good roleplaying game. From all RPGs in the Iso perspective I’ve played, I liked Larian’s the most.

There are of course also the older Baldurs Gate games. Both are coop (if I remember directly, I’m sure at least about the first one), again both can be run on Linux and on old systems, since they are old games. Which is also there main disadvantage. If you’re used to better graphics, gameplay, games where you don’t just miss all the time and voice actors, these games just can’t really stand a chance to the Larian produced ones.

Neverwinter nights should be able to be run in coop, but I don’t know if it runs on Linux. Otherwise it has pretty much all the disadvantages of the old Baldurs gate games without it being Baldurs Gate. Pick any aspect of the game and compare it to Baldurs gate and it’ll loose. What it has going for it, is the pure amount of fan made campaigns for it. So if you and your kids like playing it together, you won’t need to stop any time soon.

The only other “real” RPG coop campaign in my mind would be solasta, but I guess this would be too much for the budget PCs.

If you go away from the pure RPGs, there are some more options. Borderlands 2 can be played completely coop, has a pretty timeless graphic which is still easy for most systems and can be run on Linux. But while it has one of, if not the single best villain in gaming history, it’s technically a loot shooter and not an RPG. Even if one of the DLCs literally is a DnD campaign of the characters.

Relaxing the RPG theme further, we see some more options looking at indie games. Games like Stardew Valley or Terraria are both simple, can be seen as RPGs by some and come with multiplayer. Both are very famous and not without reason. If the other games don’t work out, they are a good option for everybody to find something to have fun with.

But tachyons are by definitions just “hypothetical particles moving faster than light”. Meaning if they exist, of course they move faster than light. I don’t know which lab your talking about, but people are absolutely right to think that tachyons are faster than light (if they believe tachyons to exist, which of course never has been proven).

Maybe you have the wrong word here and that people think that neutrinos can move faster than light, since there was a false measurement in CERN? But that one has been reported and updated already.

Sg1 will probably be one of my favourite series ever. But from my perspective it really didn’t age that well. Not talking about graphics or CGI here, but more on a action POV. A few jokes I probably wouldn’t bring today anymore, a few weird decisions regarding the plot and the cast and, because of the episodic character of the show quite a few plot holes. SGA on the other hand is a great show, which aged just as well and is the one I actually recommend people nowadays if they want to take a look at the franchise.

Ich habe vor 3 Jahren auf Linux gewechselt, hauptsächlich, weil ich mit Python programmieren musste und bei einigen packeten Fehler auftraten, die anscheinend Windows bedingt waren. Hab dann ubuntu (debian) ausprobiert, weil es immer hieß, das wär zum umstellen am einfachsten. Hat für den täglichen gebraucht leidlich geklappt, dann habe ich eine Software gebraucht, die aus irgendeinem Grund nicht geklappt hat. Im Endeffekt haben dependencies gefehlt, die aus der ubuntu Version nicht mehr verfügbar waren. Also musste das system runter, und ich wär fast zurück zu Windows. Bin dann auf anraten eines Freundes auf Manjaro (arch) gewechselt. Damit bin ich sehr zufrieden. Installation war einfach, aktuell halten ist einfach und Installation neuer Software ging bisher auch problem los. Die besagte benötigte Software gab es im aech user repository zum download, nach Installation hatte ich einen Fehler, dessen Lösung aber direkt im obersten Kommentar des selben repositorys war. Benutze Manjaro heute noch und bin sehr zufrieden damit.

Kann ich irgendwo bestätigen. Wenn ich rein nach Wocheneinkauf gehe, geben wir pro Woche etwas unter 200€ für Essen beim Aldi aus. Bei einem 6 Personen Haushalt. Und es war deutlich weniger Geld als Lebensmittel noch nicht so teuer waren. Zugegebenermaßen, Fleisch gibt es einmal die Woche (dann aber zumindest das Bio Fleisch) genau wie Fisch (auch hier Bio Zuchtlachs), ansonsten halt vegetarisch. Und halt immer selber kochen; ins restaurant gehen wir vielleicht zweimal im Jahr. Aber auch so hatte ich nie das Gefühl, dass wir wirklich viel gespart haben. In den 200€ sind auch Snacks, Schokolade, verschiedene Tiefkühlprodukte für den nächtlichen Heishunger, etc. enthalten. 200€ • 4,5 Wochen/Monat = 900€/Monat und das durch 6 kommen wir etwa auf 150€ pro Person. Die reale Zahl ist vermutlich etwas höher, weil ich jetzt nicht mit ein rechne, wenn ich mal zusätzlich einen Paneer o.Ä. vom asia Markt hole. Aber über 170 pro Person kommen wir sicher nicht.

Klar macht es das ganze einfacher, wenn man für viele Personen auf einmal einkauft. Und auch wenn wir wo es geht bio nehmen, bleibt es immer noch Aldi, der nicht alles als Bio hat und auch da verhältnismäßig billig ist. Ich nehme an im richtigen Bio Markt, würde man sehr viel mehr aus geben. Dazu kommt, dass bei uns keiner Alkohol trinkt/raucht, was auch ordentlich ins Geldgehten würde. (Off-topic: ich kennen Leute die rauchen zwei Packungen pro Tag. Das sind 20€? Wie kann man oder 600€ im Monat. Das kann ich mir halt selbst mit anständigen Gehalt nicht wirklich neben dem normalen Leben leisten)

Aber persönlich glaube ich, dass die großen Probleme von Leuten mit Bürgergeld vermutlich weniger von den reinen Kosten fürs essen kommen, sondern vermutlich eher woanders zu wenig angesetzt ist, was sich halt auf alles auswirkt. Hab damit (glücklicherweise) keine Erfahrung, aber viel an Kosten scheint man vorzustrecken und einreichen zu müssen, was halt Zeit und Energie kostet, die viele Leute nicht haben. Andere Kosten, zB sozial Leben von Kindern scheinen mit 15€/Monat halt einfach zu gering angesetzt zu sein.

Das die Studie methodisch sehr fragwürdig ist, ist mittlerweile bekannt. Das Gewalt gegen Frauen trotzdem eine aktuelle Problematik ist lässt sich aber auch mit vertrauenswürdigeren Zahlen belegen. Nach dem letzten Bericht vom RKI darüber (2020) haben etwa 35% aller Frauen über 15 schon einmal körperliche oder sexuelle Gewalt erfahren, idR. vom jetzigen oder früheren Partner. Wie viel Gewalt gegen Frauen es tatsächlich gibt ist schwer festzustellen, da es hier eine sehr große Dunkelziffer gibt, aber selbst wenn man nur die gemeldeten Tötungsdelikte anschaut, sind sie enorm hoch. Laut Bundesregierung wurden 2021 113 Frauen von ihren Partnern umgebracht (zum Vergleich: 14 Männer). Das Thema (und nicht die schlecht “Studie”) sollte also durchaus weiter im Fokus stehen.
