Many of the people who demand “debate” have no real interest in engaging properly, they just want to spew their shit without consequence. Oh, I 100% do all that stuff, it’s how I’m avoiding conflict so far. At some point it just gets fristrating to have to accomodate these people. And then go after psychatrists for some reason, I guess because that would be society fixing them? All the OP said was that people with a lot of trauma can’t be responsible for helping other people pretend that everything is fine. As someone who has been angry and bitter, and who is constantly “wrong” in the eyes of general, neurotypical society I think I understand where you’re coming from to a degree but I’m missing specifics enough to flesh out this conversation.

What a horrible thing to say and such a low-effort, disrespectful way to say it. Absolutely you can work to at least lower the severity of issues. Yes, some people will still find fault but that’s on them and if you choose to be a shitty person because “they’ll just get mad anyway”, or whatever other excuse you may find, that’s still on you.

Exactly. Too many people see hurt people as burdens and they lack even the slightest bit of empathy to be kind to them. It’s such a “push the problem over there” mentality that makes zero sense under any scrutiny. And even for them, since they’ve pushed it so hard, you can see them struggling and not enjoying themselves.

These people will also blame people eating out for why they’re poor and then complain about people not supporting restaurants. They will spit in the face of the mountains of academic research and obvious evidence otherwise which points out that crime isna poverty problem. They will do everything in their power to keep wages as low as possible and will raise prices on their products higher and higher as if anyone has the money to buy that shit. They will let you die so they don’t have to give up a single dollar even they already said that they would and should be accounting for it.

These aren’t smart people, they are animals running on monkey brain. They hoard and they scheme and they have very public temper tantrums when they don’t get their way. Sometimes we read the narcissists prayer as this clever deceitful thing but it makes so much more sense when you frame it as the desperation of a scared, cornered animal which knows it’s already lost.

They need to energize their base and most people voting for Democrats are not racist or misogynist enough for the colour of a candidate’s skin to be a major issue. That isn’t why Harris lost and that should be obvious enough.

Harris started really strong, too, but then just had to turn the whole campaign into a Liz Cheney slumber party and couldn’t admit that the obvious genocide in Gaza was a bad thing. She literally just had to let Tim Walz do his thing and it would have gone great.

I know some people who can be brought back simply because their leader does something they cannot ignore, and they can’t ignore it because there is no way to spin what’s being done that wouldn’t make someone with even half a functioning brain take a step back. Which is where I get into a weird place that I don’t love and that’s wondering just how stupid these literal billions of people around the world are. They’re barely more than animals the way they act, and that goes for all of them, from the US, to Africa, to Asia, and to Europe.
