Waited around 5 hours for a photo on the iron throne from Game of Thrones. This was between seasons 6 and 7 so before the show was completely assassinated. I called my sister from a town 90 miles away and she got a train over straight away, took over 2 hours but I was still in line by the time she showed up lol. Looking back it was definitely not worth it but I have a cool pic of me dabbing on the throne so it’s something at least.
I’m plying through an ancient game from my childhood, Disciples II: Rise of the Elves. Never got to play the Elves expansion so I’m having a lot of fun seeing something so familiar yet different. Nice bonus of it running on the steam deck, not super well but it’s workable.
I worked on a construction site next to a large nature reserve with several manmade lakes which used to be an old quarry. There were 2 eurasian kingfishers that made a nest in the side of a small cliff under a bunch of overhanging roots. I got to see them perched on nearby bushes over the water, hunting for fish and protecting their nest. Kingfishers are one of my favourite birds now, and I think this kind of experience really cemented my love of nature. I remember everyone being told off about stopping on the walkway to take pictures but I did not care in the slightest, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to get some nice photos and enjoy these elusive birds.
Assassin’s Creed 2, Brotherhood and Revelations aka the Ezio trilogy. I remember playing it when I was quite young and the parkour elements blew my mind. Ezio was a very charismatic character and these games were imo the best Assassin’s Creed games, before Ubisoft went to shit and started churning them out every other year.
