I recall the camping experience during covid: the loudness, the disrespect for the environment, the competition for camp sites and the people who would game the booking process. Camping trips are intrinsic to the Canadian identity, however, so I can’t endorse burying it behind a “camping license” or any other such strategy. I believe expand the funding of the provincial- and national-park system is a good first step, followed by converting new crown lands to campground, opening long-shuttered campgrounds, and increasing the lands allotted to current parks. I think an education campaign is in order, too.
