Anyone who has played 1000xResist, I have a question.

Near the beginning of the game, you learn that there was a calamity in the year 2047, in which alien invaders bring a plague. That is the year Hong Kong is set to transition to the Chinese system.

The game creators are Asian diaspora Canadians whose families left China. Does the game have anti-communist sentiment? There are allusions to anti-Asian racism related to a pandemic, which makes sense because a lot of people were dealing with that during this game’s development.

That would make it kinda ironic if they also depict Hong Kong’s transition as an extinction-level event brought by alien invaders.

Take this with a grain of salt, I’ve only seen the first few hours of the game.

Nobody Saves the World. It has an addicting gameplay loop. You get to transform at will into about 20 different forms and eventually you can mix and match their active and passive abilities. Each form has quests to level up, plus your character also levels up their base stats. There are bespoke quests scattered around the map as well. And some enemies have locks that make them invulnerable until you hit them with one of the 4 damage types.

Making up strong builds is encouraged in the major dungeons.

There’s a novel with an English translation in the same setting. I haven’t gotten around to reading though.
