That was one of the funniest (and saddest) things I’ve ever seen during a debate.

The political history nerd in me is honestly finding this really fascinating to be witnessing right now. Seeing liberal pundits saying that Biden needs to step down before the convention, reading all of the articles about it, etc. This might be one of those things that gets talked about in Presidential history 50 years from now, how abysmal Joe Biden was as a president and how his own party could no longer deny how unfit he was to remain as president (4 months before the election lmao).

Yeah, my high school offered a “Bible as Literature” class that was instrumental in me denouncing my faith and becoming agnostic. That teacher was my favorite, we’ve kept in touch and she recently transitioned into a woman.

One of my favorite Hexbear memories (chapo.chat at the time) was the community watch party for the first Trump-Biden debate in 2020. I got drunk, and afterwards we started playing music videos and I got introduced to the Paradise Killer soundtrack by a fellow user.

The plan is to make sure that the Democrat wins every four years indefinitely, until the end of time? That’s unsustainable, and they aren’t even on our side to begin with. Meanwhile, state governments are receiving almost zero resistance in passing their right wing agendas anyway.

Project 2025 and the impending overt fascist takeover is the inevitable conclusion of what happens when you allow capitalists to control society and influence the government. The system that allows this to happen is incapable of stopping it, and the Democrats aren’t going to save us.

Ugh. I got into a pretty heated discussion with my most radical anticapitalist friend a few days ago about this. She’s queer and disabled, and has a very real stake in being afraid of what the Republicans plan to do if they get into power next year.

I’ve played like 200 hours of Fallout 4 over the past 6 weeks, and I never really considered this. The canon you’re making up makes a lot of sense, and would definitely make the Commonwealth feel more real.

I’m not a huge Fallout-head, so I don’t know all of the lore. But I guess I figured that the reason the settlements are still so ramshackle is because resources are scarce and organizing the brainpower/manpower to really develop would be difficult in an apocalyptic wasteland where everyone and everything is trying to kill you, or take what little you have.

Sometimes I dream about what life would be like if I wasn’t being advertised to literally anywhere I lay my eyes.

Seriously. My kid is in his teens now, but taking care of him when he started walking and getting into everything played a big part in me becoming hyper-vigilant about everything lmao. Triple checking that the doors and windows were locked, making sure sharp objects were out of reach, making sure there wasn’t anything he could choke on lying around. But accidents happen, and I know those parents are grieving HARD about what occurred, I can only imagine their pain.

I’m not entirely sure why such a joke came naturally to me. I still think it was kind of funny, if inappropriate. But that’s how a lot of us deal with awful news, I suppose. It doesn’t mean that I don’t feel horrible for the parents.
