I think your best bet is to go to a shop that sells them and lets you test drive them so you can see if it can get up a 5% hill faster than walking pace and isn’t too bulky for the bus.

I think that generally precludes that it will be a bit too bulky to take on a busy bus, but depends on how much you weigh. But not sure as I haven’t really looked at new models since I got my innokim quick 3 (quite bulky) about 8 years ago.
I wouldn’t worry about getting one that’s speed limited unless it’s required legally where you live: as long as you’re willing to ride defensively and slow down when approaching pedestrians, intersections, blind corners, driveways etc. Also some scooters have different power level settings that will limit your speed if you need to.

But yeah I agree it’s not a good excuse for speeding, just trying to say that putting a sign up is not very effective. It’s better than nothing though and a good first step.
But adding speed cameras, while it might help a bit to reduce speeds, it’s not very effective, and a much better solution would be removing the root cause of the problem: car centric infrastructure.
Speed cameras don’t prevent people from speeding, they just punish people after the fact, whereas better designed roads prevent it from even happening in the first place.

It’s not that at all, look at the road where it’s happening… It’s fucking 22 god damn meters(72 feet) wide from kerb to kerb, and the speed limit is 35mph(56kph)…
The main issue is the road is very poorly designed.
Most physicists I’ve met would just use a 5.6 ohm resistor, or whatever they have on hand within an order of magnitude 😅

Venator@lemmy.nzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are display sizes always measured in inches?8·8 days agoIt’s a bit like how in NZ you can order a “pint” of beer, and the bartender will fill up a random size glass around 400~700ml 😅: you can buy a 30" TV, and if you measure the diagonal, it’s around 79-82cm 😅

When I have to drive somewhere, because there’s no inter-city passenger rail where I live, I want to do it as comfortably as possible, and bmw is one good option for this(unfortunately I can’t afford a Rolls and/or a chauffeur 😞)
Wouldn’t that be more of a statue of unlimitations?
