Did this with one show literally halfway through an episode too
I’m Dutch, and really into linguistics, I don’t believe English is the original Germanic language, I just made a fun comment because the new name still worked in english. :)
I know right? They translated an english wordplay into an english wordplay!

1·2 months agoWhile I agree with your points I still think it would be beneficial to limit companies recruiting migrant workers.

Europe@feddit.org•Migrants overpaying for substandard homes face blame for Netherlands housing crisisEnglish
1·2 months agoI just don’t think it’s scapegoating. Scapegoating would be blaming refugees who make up a miniscule amount of the housing demand, or blaming moroccan/turkish people who have been here for >3 generations already. Which is what populist parties are saying. The points mentioned in this article are about migrant workers, who are encouraged to come work here by the government and corporations, and parties are saying limiting that, will help the housing crisis a bit.

1·2 months agoI think people are interpreting this wrong. Parties are saying encouraging / enforcing companies to be less reliant on migrant workers will ease the housing crisis. These are not refugees, but people who have been encouraged to come work in the Netherlands. It’s not (just) populist/capitalist parties saying this. It’s the left wing too. In fact the main capitalist parties want to keep migrant workers because big corporations and multinationals benefit a lot from it.

It also kinda looks like one of those ferry waiting lines for cars, which would fit more with the theme of the update.

3·4 months agoUS-Evangelical. Even evangelical dominations can vary a ton. It’s just a term for trying to expand/spread the faith. In the netherlands evangelical churches are often the most progressive.

9·4 months agoAnd even the term evangelical means very different things. In the netherlands the ‘Evangelische kerken’ are some of the most progressive.

I think that is fair. I also think that for ADHD, it’s different than something like OCD, because OCD can have way more traumatic effects, which get trivialised by people like in the comic. Adhd has this less in my opinion.
