half right again, lmao
The President can issue rules, regulations, and instructions (called executive orders), which have the binding force of law upon federal agencies but do not require approval of the United States Congress. Executive orders are subject to judicial review and interpretation.

politics @lemmy.world•Fox News uses old clip of Trump after he wore hat while saluting slain US soldiers
6·1 day agobrown suit moment and hat off while giving respect to fallen soldiers are two completely different things imo.
if I was commander of an army and my actions ended up killing my soldiers, you bet the least I would do is take my hat off in a moment like this
but yeah, this moment is minor compared to the other things he has going on right now
interesting, had to look it up and you are half correct.
it still is officially the DoD, although there was an executive order stating it can legally be referenced as the DoW too
Sec. 2. Implementation. (a) The Secretary of Defense is authorized the use of this additional secondary title — the Secretary of War — and may be recognized by that title in official correspondence, public communications, ceremonial contexts, and non-statutory documents within the executive branch.
sorry, but he’s too busy trying to figure out where else to shove ai

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What motivated you to leave the family home when you did?
1·11 days agomy parents are really great people and it made us all sad that I was moving out, but thats just what happens in life when your lucky enough to be in a position like mine
however, I had an opportunity arise from someone I knew that was selling their apartment. the deal was too good to pass up, so I purchased it.
if it wasnt for that, id either still be living at home or would have moved out years later, who knows.
