The character is played by actor and co-creator of the show Anders Holm.

Vik or vig, in Scandinavian languages, means inlet or bay and is rather common as part of a placename. Therefore also somewhat common as a family name, since these tend to reflect origin of a given family.

I can recommend the show, it is funny, albeit rather stupid.

Just tested, and colors work if you use kMZ file format.

At least if I pick colors of waypoints in OM, export the waypoints and import them again, the color remains.
