Just got my first Pixel phone and installed Graphene OS, surprised how pain-free it is.

Third-party OS’ have come a long way since I soft-bricked my HTC One M8 with CyanogenMod a decade ago.

Turns out it doesn’t work on the laptop screen either, completely unavailable for Linux.

Channel 7 doesn’t support my DisplayPort cable.

This whole saga is pretty absurd and shocking, I’m too cheap to run a VPN but I’ll likely have to start selfhosting on a foreign VPS.

I strongly recommend Linux Mint Cinnamon Edition, I’ve been exclusively using Linux distros for years, Mint is the only one that for me just works how I want out of the box and stays working.

I’ve been an enthusiastic Android user for nearly 15 years now, this Google change is pretty scary.

Installing apps through FDroid is no more “sideloading” than installing a game through Steam.
