Download the operating system you want to install. Search for Linux distributions for beginners to get some suggestions.

Trying things out with an ESP32 and i might opt for Rust after reading what you have wrote. There also seems to be enough resources to do that. I started using C++ as the Arduino IDE has decided that for me more or less. I suspect setting up a local development environment is also easier with Rust. (?!) I at least had problem Setting up C++ in VSCodium.

Don’t like OOP as the next guy but sometimes its the right tool i feel like and i do have that case right now. So its great that Rust seems to have that as well to some extent. Actually as Rust is so much more readable i kinda expected to give up on some control but that doesn’t seem to be the case. :)

By the way what do you dislike C++? I’ve been getting into lower levels of programming as of late and were unsure about the language to pick. Is it just the OOP stuff?

I’ve been eyeing dwl for quite some time which is like 3k lines of c excluding deps, but don’t have the time to jump ship. So can’t tell how stable it is.

I prefer the LW icon though :( There really should be an fedivent for mods to create icons for their comms. ^But maybe i should just make one myself and propose it.^

Ja, kann sich tatsächlich inzwischen verbessert haben. Ich bin da nicht auf dem neusten Stand denke ich, oder auch einfach überempfindlich was das Design an geht. Obwohl ich mir am ende des Tages wahrscheinlich ein Auto ohne “Entertainment System” kaufen würde. Ich hasse nämlich Computer.

Weiß jetzt nicht ob das noch so aktuell ist, aber ich finde deren onboard computer (eigentlich aller deutschen Automarken) wahnsinnig peinlich. Gefühlt ein Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 dessen Software direkt von den Backendentwickler:innen “designt” wurde. Kein Wunder das die da abgehängt werden. Das ist mir auch redlich egal, nur nicht dass sie sich dann auf ihre Lobbyisten vertrauen die dann den Laden mit Steuergelder retten. Wer kommt den auch auf die Idee ein wenig Geld in R&D und Marktanalyse zu investieren…

Is this regarding the badly generated audio tracks? Just checked and couldn’t find a single one with that on. Even on videos i remember having them. It’s really sucks that new features even bad ones are decided seemingly on country, language, accounts status and other hidden variables.

If you are getting the hang of navigation anyway you could maybe do that on Photon. An alternative more modern client which i really enjoy so far with active development.

I like using !videos@lemmy.world as an alternative “frontend”/algorithm to YouTube. Could be more active, but hey there is only one way to fix that :)
