A place to call home for folks who grow mushrooms!@lemmy.ca•Blue Oyster on cardboard shredEnglish
2·5 个月前You can get it almost anywhere. Most of mine comes from boxes for deliveries and any paper that is okay to shred.
Any place that uses pallets usually has huge squares of cardboard you can break down too

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What Fantastic (and Janky) Things Do You Do With Leftover Packaging?English
5·6 个月前I shred all my cardboard and paper with all plastic windows and tape removed. I use the shred in my compost. I also reuse it as dunnage if I need to ship something.
I plan on getting into building worm farms as a project too.
You can get a 12 page shredder used in tons of places.
I like to cut it into manageable sizes with this tool from harbor freight or one like it: https://hftools.com/app56192
You could cut the cardboard with a razor in a vice too.
I grow edible mushrooms on the shred too. https://lemmy.world/post/22563343
I’ve considered doing something like this too. Looks like you can make all sorts of cool stuff with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRa1Lx0zvkI
Your use of an incomplete post title pleases me.
Where can I get this sticker?

Thank you for the explanation.
Sorry, I’ve been out of the game for a while. Can you expand upon this? I’d like to better understand.

A place to call home for folks who grow mushrooms!@lemmy.ca•What have you been growing?English
2·9 个月前That sounds really interesting! I’m guessing you’re in the Southern Hemisphere since autumn is approaching for you.
We have some bioluminescent fungi here in North America too, though I haven’t had the chance to try culturing any yet. Have you been able to identify any specific fungi growing on the rewarewa wood, or are you just experimenting to see what appears? I’d love to hear more about what you’ve found and how you’re culturing them!
Also, enoki in the autumn sounds like a great plan—are you going for the traditional cultivated look or hoping for a more wild-style growth?
