This is the most rational take I’ve seen on the possibility of a general strike. I’ve seen the argument that people need to suck it up and just do it together, right next to the counterpoint that some people simply can’t. They, or perhaps their children or loved ones, could die, and that’s something you can’t just ASK of people (unless you’re a government, apparently). And if not enough people managed to participate in the strike then they would have died in vain. Two things can be true at the same time, though, and I think a general strike is still a good idea, there just needs to be a decently large group of people (who know what they’re doing) to give it a kickstart. I’m sure more people would join as such a movement gained publicity.

But that assumes that the right and left are both searching for truth and a path to a better future. Any flavour of leftist can be wrong about something, but at least leftism attempts to help society at the end of the day. A conservative is only ever out for themself (and would likely get pissed with me for using “them” in the singular lol).

Yeah, I downloaded that tool and it’s really useful but the buttons don’t show up at all. The kernel is up to date but I think what other people are saying may be true, they might not be mappable to begin with. That doesn’t explain the two face buttons not working, though.

Holy shit I actually hit my desk when I read this. I’ve been trying to put into words why “centrism” and “both sides” bullshit is just conservatism and why liberals stand for nothing. I have been trying for years now and then you come along and just: “Democrats tell you there are no problems” YES. That is what I’ve been trying to tell people for fucking years!! I’m not the problem for being concerned for the world, stop giving me that look when all I’m doing is pointing out that the problem exists and you should care about it as much as I do.
