There was some word lately that Canada is going with a local “Cohear” or “Cohere” to create their sovereign cloud infrastructure. It’ll be interesting to see it go ahead, seems to be part of what the government is looking to help finance. Here’s hoping the government is smart enough to get a %age of the profits too and double dip on the economy boost.

Yeah I agree that this feels like another website that was created with her only fans money, with the end-goal of selling to a corporation of some sort, like all of these sites eventually go the way of.

I have. These people act like “sending a text outside of work hours to a boss” is such a heavy lift, while their time in the office is often spent just throwing wrenches into already working machinery.
What is a “new exciting service” that Walmart has provided? Nothing. All this woman does is spend time in meetings with other execs trying to figure out ways to increase their bottom line (read: bonuses) and pass the work of doing that off on people who then have to handle the weight of making these ideas of theirs a reality.
As others have said, the C-suite is the most replaceable use-case for AI. Just people that throw shit at the wall and see what sticks.

BUT I’m not sure I’m comfortable opening Jellyfin to the internet, even behind nginx, and I don’t want to have to spend time setting things up for them or troubleshooting their issues w/ Jellyfin. I put enough labor into this thing already.
This is still where I’m at too. It’s a great service, but the fear of messing something up when opening it up to the internet is too worrying. I’m usually pretty good picking up new tech with easier setups, but when there are 4 different networking techniques with their own pros and cons, at that point it’s just easier to just run as a local service.
The headlamp is going to become the sign we are old. Newer cars are making them damn near inaccessible behind more engine components that keep being added. Some of them I’ve had to take the wheel panels off to go through that way.

I often say “that number again is,” but I had to find someone in here that knows how to do it right. First number let’s them know you’re hitting them with the deets. The second pause is crucial. Gives them the chance to write down the first numbers before having to remember the last ones.

I can look at the “code” it generated and know what it was trying to do, and then write it correctly. I do find AI useful when I’m not sure how to go about solving a particular code-related issue, but … it just gives me something to think about, not an answer I can use directly.
So glad to see others that do that. Still haven’t really tried to understand what vibe coding is, as I try and ignore passing terms, but I was starting to think it was just using the AI assistants in any way. I use it in the same way as you and find it perfectly fine for that purpose but I can’t imagine using it for anything more.
Has Audacity gotten better since I used it as a teen to record songs around 2010? Loved the product but my god was it ever tough to look at.
