  • I don’t use nazi lightly.

Seems your whole argument mixed Republican and Nazi ideology into one when they are separate things.

Yes someone one that thinks minority, and Jews should be scrubbed of this earth is a bad person but there are other aspects you are throwing into the mix. For example

They foamed at the mouth when asked to do the bare minimum and wear a mask to help protect their more vulnerable countrymen during a pandemic

This seems to leave the definition of a Nazi and fall more under people that took issue with mask. I wouldn’t imagine a Nazi to say “countymen”. If a Nazi lived in an all white town would they wear a mask because they valued the lives of a white person more? Again it’s seems like there’s a bit of a classification problem to me.

Are all people that don’t were mask Nazis?

    Are all Republicans Nazis?

Is any right wing belief just a dog whistle for white supremacy?

Are corporations run by neoconservatives all just Nazis who tow a progressive narrative to hide there actions but they should be banned as well?

  • People use nazi only because it’s an easy label to hate and doesn’t require any further thought.

Say that bartender said “communist” instead of nazi or some other ideology they don’t agree with.

Also the bartender assumed the guy was a nazi. I used to work security in a very progressive US town and you would be surprised how many people go “some one just said there’s is a nazi in my store get them out of here” I would walk over to find it’s actually an antifa shirt with a swatica that is crossed out. the customer never took the time to actually read the guy’s shirt and decided they were going to sleep better tonight because they told on them.

Being an idiot with a knee jerk reaction to someone that is different from you isn’t an antidote to live by. Some people quick to judge would even call it nazi like behavior.

  • Yes I use graphine OS on a Google pixel and have nearly all FOSS apps. The few apps I can’t get FOSS I cut off network access to. (Alwsome graphine OS feature)

On my home computer I use uBlock, sponserblock, and I have a piehole running.

My ethics on this mimic that of modern multiplayer games. Games make a much larger amount of money praying those willing to dump hundreds into cosmetic items so now the game is free for me. Eg. leage, overwatch, apex, halo etc. . .

I see other distributed content in this same way. If someone love a content creator so much that they will drop money on merch, or patron good for them. They make up the majority of the money the content creator makes anyway so I don’t really lose sleep over it.

  • Literally this.

There was only one guy posting in The Donald.

Sh.itjust.works is overwhelmingly left leaning and is devoid of any conservative discord better yet any nazi content.

If it takes one person speaking out of line to get defederated then we’ve lost the point of why to have a federated system in the first place.

If we start losing our heads whenever someone says something then you negate the 10,000 other post and comments that are made about hobbies, interest, & questions that are helping people.

4chan will remain a back bone of the internet because they keep this at there core. When people hear 4chan they think /pol/ but they forget all the other boards that are on the site. If lemmy doesn’t want to get drowned out in a sea of “what could of been” alternatives then we have to be what reddit wasn’t.

  • Colleges are hands down the most inclusive and overtly supportive places of the trans people. yes there is pushback by red states but that is far from the norm. “people who actively hate them for no reason at all” hate is an easy pejorative and untrue statement to disregard peoples opinion. Most disagreeing people see trans people much like how most people see furies. They don’t agree with it personally but they respect there right to do what they want. they think its not entirely right that some one should come dressed in a full furry outfit to work. They dont think its right that there kids kinder garden teacher should be explaining the life of furies and yifing to my kids and that they need to decide if they are actually human or not. I dont mind my kids learning about that stuff when there in there teens and hell i wouldn’t even mind if they grew up to be a furry if its what made them happy. we just wouldnt want it overly presented to them as a kid.

  • This is a bit blown out of proportion. Most collages in America are overwhelmingly supportive of trans people were it iseven a plus to put on a collage app. During pride month we saw monolitic neoliberal war profiteering & planet destroying corporations like Raythion, P&G, Halliburton, Amazon, J&J, etc… all have over welming support for trans/pride issues.

At some point when you -got through your ivy league college because you said you were trans on the app -get told by the president that he supports trans rights -come home and can find and a plethora queer media -get a job at Halliburton because they want to hire more trans people then spend your days making weapons help bomb wedding in 3rd world countries.

You have to come to the realization that you are not part of a “resistance” anymore.

Yes there’s still some lingering issues in some red states and the more people take this overtly victim mentality the worse the pushback will become. It’s gotten to the point now we’re there is ever become a large rift between the gay/lesbian community and the trans community because of narratives like this.
