Oi! You posted this three weeks ago! I think you’ve got two of this in your bot’s queue, since Cybermoe got this twice too. It happens. I have to weed duplicates out of my post queue every now and then.
Internet hologram, Reddit refugee, and mod of @FloatingIsFun . Retro game streamer since before Twitch, on hiatus to grind levels in being a dad and ally. Easily distracted by floaty things. he/him

A lot of times, when we see an anime character hanging from a bunch of balloons, they’ll be holding onto them with superhuman upper arm strength like their own body weight is no problem. Not this time, though. It’s Akaya Kirihara and Masaharu Nio from The Prince of Tennis, who are athletes to begin with, and this pose is pretty much how they’d hang if there was only room to hang with one hand. And it’s the cover for a yaoi doijinshi, so there’s that.
It’s TGS time again, and while I usually post Kukka’s main show key visual, the online VR event makes more sense for us this time. The theme is “Festival held on “Game Islands,” islands floating in the sky”, and there’s so many things floating in so many different ways that I couldn’t ignore it.
I don’t remember that part of Hansel and Gretel. Did the old witch put a spell on that candy?
This one’s been in my post queue since before Floating Is Fun actually started. It looks like this girl is learning a lot about the power she has. It’s tricky, because Sin:cK shows us a lot of rough sketches and none of them have any names or tags to distinguish them from each other.
Just make the main link a New York Times gift article link. Those aren’t paywalled. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/18/world/middleeast/israel-exploding-pagers-hezbollah.html?unlocked_article_code=1.L04.4Yla.tf3LG-_hbGcb&smid=url-share
The 1900 Paris Exhibition attracted the world’s best aeronauts and inventors, including Alberto Santos-Dumont, a wealthy Brazilian aviation pioneer who built the world’s first motorized aircraft. With members of the International Congress of Aeronauts of watching and filming him, Santos-Dumont demonstrated that his airship can fly into the wind, even with a broken rudder. Some even credit Santos-Dumont with the first airplane that could take off on its own, but the Wright Brothers beat him to it by a few years by using a launch system.
Mary Poppins doesn’t only fly with umbrellas, you know. She’s in an elite group of characters who qualify for Floating Is Fun multiple times under different tags. What did Angela Lansbury put in these balloons?
I apologize for the gap between posts here. I didn’t forget about my airheads here! I encountered some other unexpected floating objects and they’ve been living rent-free in my head ever since. I asked about them and I’ll post one when I get the chance.
!skychildrenoflight@lemmy.world makes a strong case for “video games are art”, especially appealing to my floaty tendencies. I’m afraid of it because it’s free-to-play and I’ll never own the game and it’ll always ask me for more money. Still, I find myself attracted to it like a moth to the flame. I must play this sometime.
@MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz , can @saucechan@ani.social take a crack at this? SauceNAO can’t find this at all.
⑨/⑨ is upon us, and it’s tradition to post Cirno from Touhou! Cirno is upside-down here, so this pose is a ⑥ instead. Cool backflip, but not a ⑨.
This one was tricky to source. Hana Augustine is anti-AI art and has been deleting her art from platforms that train AIs. I had the Behance one saved for this week, but it’s been deleted and the other non-Glazed uploads of this are probably getting deleted soon. If this happens, I can upload a new version of this to Fedia, but I’m not sure it would federate to other instances.
Yay! It looks like I successfully crossposted something @Tywele@lemmy.dbzer0.com posted on Lemmy! Back on Reddit, whenever I was about to post some art, I’d check other subreddits for it and crosspost them if possible. No need to have multiple uploads, and I want to help our airheads here to find other like-minded communities. If you like my posts here, !imaginarywitches@lemmy.dbzer0.com is definitely worth following as well.
Me too! I don’t know much about Moomin but now I want to find examples of Moomin and floating.
From the title, I guess a deity took over this area and made gravity optional. Float if you want to, and play around with how floating and non-floating objects interact.
I’m on my way to Matsuricon to defend my title in the mystery game tournament. The dealer’s probably has a booth for Crunchyroll, but aren’t they just Sony now? Does the person who made this music playlist even work for them anymore?
Here in Ohio, FuncoLand and Electronics Boutique were the national game store chains in town until GameStop bought them both and took over their stores. Funco was known for their lists of trade-in values in magazines in the days before VGPC. Now it’s come full circle and GameStop is turning some stores into the 90s FuncoLand stores they replaced.
The (NSFW) bubble fanatic Neo Sumino Arezzo commissioned Ko-dai to draw their Cure Maid Café-style original character Izumi Natheria in the Bumper Bubbles minigame from Mario Party 9.
Whew! That sentence required way more than my usual due diligence, and the language barrier didn’t help that at all. There are some rabbit holes here for sure. Among those, the bubbles can collect balloons without popping, but the spike balls can pop your bubble and your rivals will try to shove you into them.
It’s fine; this post can stay. It’s got more votes than anything I’ve posted this week, so it’s reaching the right people.
