  • The bloodletting is only the tip of the story. My favorite part was when the island’s government secretly sold out all of its residents and decided to protect the corporation who is putting them in an early grave:

Despite the growing evidence of health effects, compensation remains unlikely. Jersey’s government signed a confidential deal with 3M in 2005, agreeing not to pursue legal claims for £2.6m towards cleanup. Jersey must also assist 3M in defending any future claims.

A source who asked not to be identified said Jersey needed 3M’s permission to proceed with blood tests to avoid corporate backlash. “The state got an agreement to do individual blood tests, but not screening, as that could be the first step towards a possible class action lawsuit.”

  • Last year I purchased a domain name for our farm business as a place holder knowing I’ll eventually get around to putting together a website when life allows.

Well the domain registration site had a “privitize my infomation” button…which I forgot to check…for the first 12 hours.

EVERY web and app developer from here to Pakistan now has my phone number and I get about 4-6 calls a day asking if I want help developing an app for our website.

I’ve had to block entire area codes with an installed spam blocker just to slow them down and get some small bit of peace back.

Moral of the story, Never forget to hit that privitize button.

  • As someone with massive gut issues who also cannot handle onions or garlic I found Bell Peppers to be my newest favorite flavoring for dishes. Once you get the overwhelming taste of garlic/onion out of the way the pepper’s complex flavors start to really shine through.

Also check out the Low FODMAP diet. Onions/Garlic are the main culprits to remove FODMAP from your diet and there are now lots of recipes available out there without them.

  • Tasty

Served by one of London’s many underground streams, the water was praised for being “bright, sparkling, and cool, and of an agreeable taste”. These qualities were later found to be derived from decaying organic matter from adjoining graveyards, and the leaching of calcium from the bones of the dead in many new cemeteries in north London through which the stream ran from Hampstead.
