Your cat is lucky to have such good owners who will fight for them! From the other replies I figured that hopefully everything will go well and you can enjoy much more time with her! Our cat’s disease made our relationship so much more intense and loving even through all the hardship!

Our cat had another cancer, so I hope it’s ok if I chip in. We also went to the vet like 25x times because he didn’t eat and they always said do not worry. Imagine to have a hungry cat at home which can’t eat, it was like hell! And the vets didn’t believe us, they always said he doesn’t look that bad. Until he looked really bad in the end and had tumors all over his tummy.

I would also take the eye out, because cats adapt so quickly and seeing your cat die from cancer is horrible. I hope it’s benigne in best case and in case of melanoma it hasn’t spread!

If things go downhill, you can contact me, because we now got a lot of experience with terminally ill cats unfortunately. In short what worked best were full spectrum CBD troplets. Our cat didn’t like opiates, but the CBD troplets chilled him and he got some pain relieve. Although he didn’t want to take them ;-)

So I hope you’ll never get in this situation but CBD troplets also worked for us after a small eye surgery. Your kitty is absolutely stunning and I hope everything will go well! Best of luck!

When we went to the USA, people believed us that we lived in little huts on mountains without power. (From Austria) They didn’t believe us that we would ride our bike to work.

Just to be clear, hardly any Austrian lives without power in their house, even if they live up on mountains. But almost all my coworkers and myself included take their bike to work. (Although we live in a city, hard to get up your little mountain hut with your bike ;) )

Yes that’s kind of a pet peeve of mine. I understand that sleep deprived parents sometimes need to put their kids in front of their phones. But in recent years I have noticed that they just blast the sound really loud and don’t care about any other human being. I’m really shy but after almost freaking out on a train ride because of two different kids just watching something full volume I have asked parents to tone it down. They were even kind of embarrassed and nice about it. I have no idea how you can be so disconnected to your surrounding… The worst were grandparents with a 2 year old kid during a kids theater and they just let the kid watch a show with the volume up. I mean what about all the other kids who are performing and you sit in the middle with a phone just blasting full volume. They wanted to stop him and then he started throwing a tantrum. They just laughed and were like oh he’s so cute and we can’t do anything about it. Fuck that’s not cute, if you want to watch a tv show with volume, just sit outside of theater with your little brat!

Have you got an apartment you rent now? Unfortunately I don’t have any idea about logistics and moving in the USA. Are there any trans friendly communities in other states which could help you out with finding a position or place to stay? Maybe post in trans communities on Lemmy if they have any ideas. I’m just brainstorming right now… But seriously what could go wrong with setting up a go fund me? You really seem to be on a breaking point and I guess everythings overwhelming right now. I just try to think about options other than killing yourself.

Seriously the idea with the go fund me sounds like a reasonable thing to do. I came here from your last post and was thinking about how to help. Didn’t want to send money to anybody online but would chip in one go fund me. Looks like you’re at a breaking point anyway, so why not just try to go somewhere trans friendly and try to get a teaching position there. Before you kill yourself why not? Doesn’t seem like any family or friends are helping you out in Oklahoma. I don’t know about the specifics in the USA and if you’d be worse of somewhere else because of social benefits I might not understand.

Don’t know about this specific case but there will always be systemic abuse with which the wealthy and the ones in power can suppress their victims unfortunately.

I think you’ve articulated your point well and have solid advice! I think the whole thread was a rant and they didn’t want any advice though. You were trying to help out but that’s just not what they wanted/ needed to hear right now. So your viewpoints just clashed because of that.

Hope you can still fill your weekend with things you enjoy. But sometimes just dwelling in your feelings needs to be done. Whatever you do, I hope you get through the weekend and will have a better year ahead of you!

Maybe it’s a nice warm tropical island with perfect weather all year round.

So my boyfriend was drinking about 6-8 beers per day and some schnaps. (Sometimes half a bottle to a bottle per day). For me it’s like 3 beers a day, but because of work I can’t drink everyday so I guess for me it’s not going to be that hard. Just when I have a hard day at work I’m so happy to come home to my boyfriend and beer. I think it’s not going to be a physical withdrawal for me but a mental thing I will have to fight. And also of course when partying we used to drink much more also …
