I’m pro-Green but I’m not sure about this guy yet. But he might not even be leader by the time of the next general election.

Carswell hit back against Afzal’s comment - not to deny inciting racial hatred but instead to note that he cannot be prosecuted because he now lives in the US.
“I live under the protection of a free Republic where free speech is protected and your courts have not held jurisdiction in 249 years, Mr Afzal,” Carswell declared.
I thought Tizen was cool, though I never used it.
I think yes (just use lamda/n in place of lamda). I seem to remember diamond has one of the highest n in visible (while still transparent), so it might be difficult to imagine it could be higher than that. Alternatively, why not say Legolas can see in the ultraviolet to get lamda down.
Is it possible to choose an exit node? Because if the exit node’s in UK, it presumably doesn’t help with the geoblocking aspect.
This is more of a Korean learning community afaik, so there might not be. You could check the communities on https://lemmy.funami.tech/ (e.g. !korea@lemmy.funami.tech). I believe the admin is Korean at least, but most posts are still in English.
Games, posters, and singles in the basement. Albums on the ground floor. DVDs and classical upstairs. It was fun just to look through stuff, but I think I did actually buy all my music and a lot of my game boy games from HMV.
Technically IP law covers patents, trademarks, copyright, and designs (sometimes also called design patents). Patent protection is 20 years (plus a little bit extra under certain conditions. Trademarks is indefinite in theory. Copyright (in many jurisdictions) is 70 yrs after death or 50 yrs for certain works (e.g., music recordings). Designs, I’m not really sure.
A lot of OLEDs can’t hit 400 nits, though, right? [Edit: maybe not for sustained brightness, but peak brightness they can?]
In his previous video, he said that if you don’t play in a dark room, the second setting for paper white should target 250 or 300 nits instead of 200, so if you play in a lit room, you should be using more clicks for the second screen (but I don’t know how many).
Why has Hungary got it in for the Scots?
Didn’t know about Syria’s flag change
This is so engrossing. I’ve made it to chapter 77 while “working”. What a story.
Awesome, thanks. I appreciate my budget doesn’t give much to work with. I did already think about this one for a while - there are loads of 1000R out there, but I thought it might be a bit much, so would prefer a shallower curve. The AW has better ports and is probably going to have better HDR as well. It’s still in the shortlist.
I did wonder how likely it is that the S2 would even be able to max out its display output. If MKW is 1440p @ 60, that might be the ceiling in practice (at that resolution, at least).
Okay, sure. Don’t spend too much time on it, though, because I’m sure I’ll end up happy with whatever I get.
I was planning to get this Samsung G50D for £242. My reasonable shopping list includes 32-inch screen, wide viewing angles (so probably IPS), a height-adjustable stand since I’ll use it for some office work as well and might move it about, [edit: and 1440p]. Preferably I’d like to keep it below £300.
Awesome, thank you. All good to know. I know HDR400 is the lowest, but much of the other things I’m looking at in the same price range don’t have any certification, they just support HDR10 in some way. If I could find HDR500/600 for a small price premium, I could go for it.
Ah, okay! Thanks. I’d still find any comments on general HDR output interesting, though.
The new “BritCard” would be used to check on an individual’s right to live and work in Britain, with senior No 10 figures examining the proposal, The Times has reported.
The card, stored on a smartphone, would reportedly be linked to government records and could check entitlements to benefits and monitor welfare fraud.
I’m not against what it’s trying to achieve, but will it achieve that and isn’t there a less expensive or better way to do it?
No PM is really going to want to agree to one. It’s going to take a lot of pressuring and strong SNP showings in both parliaments to get to a stage where a PM considers it.
There’s a gothic joke in here somewhere too
