Thanks for the correction! I just copied the description over here, but yeah that didn’t seem like an eagle to me so I appreciate it
Some good !academiagonewild@lemmy.world material there
The DDS bit is just Weinersmith accidentally using the wrong degree, I think. This is one of the older comics where the bonus panels were drawn by him going back to old comics after over a decade, so he’s just drawing himself as confused as to his previous mistake.
The actual panel isn’t that deep I think. The guy is dumb and doesn’t realize that offering to pay for her facelift implies his wife is unattractive and needs a facelift.
I think this comment was meant for another thread?
Yeah, haven’t gotten too far yet, but it really nails the look and feel of Moomin. It’s very kid-friendly, and doesn’t require a lot of fine-motor control.
That’s the way it is on the original 🤷 Maybe he forgot to update those comics? He added the alt text and bonus panels for these old comics like a decade after they were originally written.
EDIT: Looks like he just stopped coming up with alt text for the older comics after this. All of the old comics I checked after this have an alt text of just the date up through https://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/2015-03-03, which is the last one that’s titled by day as well. I might just stop posting the alt text for these comics. Also it’s the title attribute, not the alt attribute, but now it’s too much work to go back and change all of the old posts. Oh well.
Watching Parks & Rec for the first time. They eventually make it not quite so bad, but the humor about Jerry is pretty cringey at the start. It’s got a lot of good moments to make up for it, though
Sorry for the Reddit links, but somebody did a great writeup of the infamous roast:
And Yvette Nicole Brown did an AMA where she compliments all of the Community cast except for Chevy Chase:

That’s the right response to a lot of Oglaf comics
His uncle called him “Sparky” after the horse Spark Plug in Billy DeBeck’s comic strip Barney Google, which Schulz enjoyed reading.
Doesn’t say why he started using his real name with Peanuts, though
If it’s unclear, it’s referencing an infamous Far Side cartoon called Cow Tools. Here’s some background:
It even has its own Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cow_tools
Yep, exactly. Thanks for clarifying that. As a bonus, here’s some background on the infamous comic:
The nice thing about knowing someone with Alzheimer’s is that your jokes never get old
Yeah, there’s some history there:

Most recently Russia, pre-USSR, but also the Swedes were kind of dicks back in the day. I’ve heard that to this day, speaking Swedish in a Finnish bar might get you ignored by the bartender.
Hell yeah, that’s awesome! How’d you make them?

Good thing nobody’s archiving sites like this, and the pictures are gone from the internet forever.
Slight typo, it’s “pacifist”. Love it, though!
Appreciate the conversion to Freedom Units 🫡
