Cliffhanger is a generous term for “the movie doesn’t have a 3rd act”
Don’t get me wrong, I liked it but it just kind of stops instead of ends

With those numbers I’d guess TotK was more profitable. Movies have a huge amount of production costs and some of those groups take percentages of total revenue and/or profit. Especially considering TotK was a first party game, so it had even fewer parties invested, it was probably higher margins.
From what I can tell the H20 is an older product that’s been mostly replaced by the Libra 2. I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon sold at a loss, breaking a kindle out of the Amazon ecosystem is more work than most people will do, so they end up being audible subscribers and buying books from Amazon. Personally I think they’re worth the slightly higher price tag to avoid the headache but ultimately it’s your money
I know this isn’t what you’re asking for but the kobo H2O is what I use and it’s fantastic. It’s not sucked into Amazon’s shitty ecosystem and right out of the box it works for loading pirated content. I get all my books from the zlibrary onion site and you literally drag and drop files into the file folder. It’s e-ink so the battery lasts forever, it gets super bright for outside reading, and it’s waterproof. I can’t speak to modding but I haven’t bought a book since 2020 because of it and I honestly prefer it to most physical books at this point
Are you suggesting Christians should designate one very special guy to place the burden of all of their sins on so that they can confidently attain eternal salvation?
It’s like when Doom: Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out at the same time. People find it funny when two disparate properties release at the same time in the same space. Especially in the movie theater where double features are not uncommon, there’s a lot of people who want to see both and think the high contrast in tone and style of movies will make for an interesting experience.
Personally I anticipate Oppenheimer being a pretty bleak experience so going immediately to Barbie after will be a fun palate cleanser
The Morpheus one is great, I tend to forget about it because I don’t revisit reloaded as much. Obviously Braveheart is an all time classic movie speech but it’s not really on theme
Before part 1 I was under the opinion that you could probably find a way to tell Messiah and Children in one movie and I think we’ll certainly see elements of Children appear in part 3. I’m disappointed that this means we’ll probably never see God-Emperor as a movie but I also understand that watching 2 hours of philosophy with a slug, his bio-engineered wife, and a zombie would probably be pretty unapproachable for most audiences. I almost think the way to make it palatable would be to tell the story from the PoV from a bunch of characters interacting with Leto over the course of a TV show
Of course the cowards released these decisions on the Friday before a 4 day weekend for most. I know it’s common practice but moves like that make it so clear that they know they’re being shitty and are trying to bury the news
Are they better than the mega-corps buying up thousands of houses, sure. Are they still taking one of the basic necessities for life and commidfying it? Also yes. You can use whataboutism all you want and maybe it helps you sleep at night but that doesn’t change what you’re doing.
I also love to hear landlords complain about how hard their “jobs” are and how tenants are so difficult. News flash: nobody is holding a gun to your head and making you rent out a house. If it’s so much work why don’t you sell the house, put the money into some structured investments and work all the hours you’d work on the property at a real job? Is it because it’s not actually all that much work? Is that why you say it’s a good retirement supplement? Or was it because your daddy was a landlord, and his daddy was a landlord and dammit being a landlord runs in your veins? Gee, I wonder if we ever came up with a term for a family landlord business? Maybe we can come up with something really regal to describe them?
