If I had to guess they were listening to people who thought the trans support was a serious cause for low turn out and wanted to get out ahead and raise their profiles by attaching them selves to the theory.
They’re so desperately want this to be a loss due to culture war. They just can’t accept the fact that the strategies, policies, and politics that they pushed for failed so miserably when put to the electoral test.
it’s a matter of fighting the laws based on the fact that they’re infringing on medical rights in general, not because they’re targeting us.
Realistically, I think the reason republican strategists chose to pursue these laws was less out of pure bigotry and more because it lets them set precedents regarding the rights of state governments to insert them selves in personal medical affairs.
If anything democrats should push for legislation that strengthens people’s medical rights and frame it as being about abortion access. Framing it as about trans rights would just turn us in to a perpetual political football.
Right now, the anti trans rhetoric on the right is a fringe bugbear. Something that will probably fade from right wing politics as it fails to gain traction among voters.
If the democrats campaign on it, suddenly people in the republican sphere who didn’t really care will decide to care a lot about it simply to spite the democrats. Likely only empowering a push for more anti trans laws in state legislatures, as well as stoking stochastic violence.
As someone else said, it’s a betting site, and the numbers it is showing are based on how much has been bet on any given candidate.
I think it’s fair to say that it’s not a reliable indicator of actual odds. It’s essentially a money weighted poll from a self selected population (people who would use an online betting site to bet on an election). So, it is not a good random sample of American voters, let alone a random sample of voters from swing states that actually decide the outcome.

Any Linux distribution should work on AMD CPUs, well, Debian based distros can sometimes have issues with particularly new hardware due to the long time between releases. But bazzite is fedora based so you should be fine with anything.
Nvidia GPUs work just fine with AMD CPUs.
Realistically the question is how high end of a CPU do you want, the mid to high end range AMD CPUs tend to be cheaper than their intel equivalents, but the highest end intel chips edge out the highest end AMD chips right now. Realistically, that won’t matter unless you are doing something super CPU intensive and just want the most power possible for your machine.
AMD CPUs also have better integrated graphics, not super important if you have a dedicated GPU, but, there are times when having a second somewhat capable graphics processor could be useful.
I don’t want ten or twenty year out commitments from companies. I want immediate policy implementation from law makers. Anything less than laws that take immediate effect I will assume to be pandering and not real action.
Skyrim had a narrative, it had stories that raised curiosity enough to engage with the gameplay loops. Some of the side quest were even pretty good, the main quest was meh.
Increasingly Bethesda seems to be building their games around gameplay loops with narrative increasingly ancillary. They’ve optimized for grind without giving a reason to grind.

Depends on the grenade. Lotta people who talk about “grenade no work like that” are talking about a specific type of grenade they are familiar with.
Some grenades have very easy pins to pull, some grenades start the fuse as soon as the the pin is pulled, some require the spoon be depressed for the pin to be pulled.
Reality is, there are many types of grenades that work in different ways.
It’s an attempt to create a unified narrative that can tie together a number of disparate groups. Groups who have no chance of winning elections or joining another coalition. Groups whose goals and ambitions are so antithetical to public interest that they can never actually say what they want out loud.
The reason this document is so bizarre and unhinged is because it’s trying to speak the language of people who have to speak in a series of dog whistles to prevent being disregarded out of hand.
It’s a rallying cry to all those who are upset when they get held accountable for saying what they actually think.

As I understand it, any browser on iPhone has to be built on WebKit, so even if you install fire fox or chrome, it’s running on a totally different web engine than the desktop version. Making them more safari re-skins in the same way that stuff like brave or opera are just chrome reskins.
some people stick with safari, but no one is replacing chrome, fire fox, or edge with safari. People choose to replace edge because it is obtrusive and annoying to use, safari isn’t.
In that context, safari is not a competitor for Firefox in the same way chrome is. It’s comparing apples to oranges.
So, the big kicker on that front is that most distributions ( there is a whole family tree of different versions built with different goals) are open source, meaning that people can look at the code and see what is running on their machine. Most people aren’t inspecting every part of their system, but every part has been inspected by many people. When something sketchy goes on, it will be called out. Because the code is open for anyone to see, and most versions are distributed under certain licenses, people can take it and branch off their own version if they don’t like what’s being done.
There are some versions maintained by companies (Android for example) and some by volunteers, but they all run on the same open source Linux kernel, or some modified version of it, which is maintained by volunteers. Most Linux distributions are built by people who care about it and want it to work well.
So at the end of the day, it’s all super transparent and there is a lot of accountability through that. No one will be sneaking spy wear in or logging what you do unless you let them, and because there is so many versions, it’s easy to migrate to a different version if the people making one do something stupid.
A lot of power users love Linux for how much you can do with it, but there are lots of versions that are built to be easy to use and as low maintenance as possible. There is a huge variety of versions, even a bunch of gimmick or joke version.
