  • Actually, I had utilized the link, thank you. I just mostly found their promotional hosting services, and nothing of self host. A lot of times people post links to projects pages on GH and that’s it, so after a minute I wanted to chime in.

THEN buried on their page I found it and wanted to clarify my comment for anyone else who might be looking for the info themselves…

Now we got your douchey self in the comments being, well, a douche, and instead of maybe fixing your link to go straight for the self-host section or anything useful, you decide to just be a dick as if that’s any benefit…

A more clear and concise post would say something like: While this company offers paid (and slightly more expensive) hosted solutions like Nextcloud, you also have the option to self -host and view the files here https://github.com/peergos/peergos It offers E2EE over a P2P network, which is better than NC too.

    And that’s it folks.

  • Dang, that’s a lot of seperate parts for 1 “simple” task smh. It’s one of the reasons I’ve stayed away from all this Docker nonsense. I get it’s FOSS and is a great alternative to a lot of paid garbage, but just seems like there could be an easier way… Nice to learn, tinker, etc, but if it breaks, then it seems more complicated to fix as each component is separate.

I’ve just supported Window for so long and there’s a second-nature to troubleshooting; but took years to get there, ya know? I’ll check it out for sure, but I’m still going to look around myself

  • Someone opened my eyes recently to Yunohost which is a container manager essentially (my understanding) though is based on Debian for the newer versions not actual Docker.

Anyway, I can install Prometheus as well as node explorer, but I think I would only need Prometheus. Node explorer sounds like if I hosted Prometheus on another box and wanted this host to talk to it.

  • I think people are allowed to believe what they want to, but religion has been exploited by the greedy so often that it has destroyed a lot of modern views on the subject.

Any tele-evangelist is a piece of shit-Joel Osteen for example (and others) preech happy positive messages with scriptures thrown in… The difference is: he’s a motivational speaker, not a true pastor/ or man of faith even. He gets people to feel good about themselves so they like going “to church” instead of teaching what the all Bible is about.

Most non-Catholic church will speak/teach on the Bible all contextual meanings and messages, and, to me, a lot of it isn’t meant to be happy, but how to live a better life so that others can see the good you do. I’m not saying you’re better than others for going to church, I’m just saying giving time or money (charity to groups or someone in need), choosing not to react or say bad things when so easily you can speak out of anger, etc.

Yes, all could be done outside of religion too, no doubt, but, when you’re trying to live a (actual) life of humility, selflessness, and compassion, it’s easier to do so when you’re around others who look to do the same. Idk, view as a book club or support group almost.

Believe whatever you’d like, no prob. No issues. I’m not even religious anymore myself. But, until you live and breathe it, you can’t knock it or bash others for wanting “more”, or can’t blame for trying to be hopeful there’s more to life.
