Neither of those series were nominated for this award. I imagine they weren’t due to not meeting eligibility requirements (release dates, platforms, spoken languages… dunno).

The nominees were:
From my outsider’s perspective, this was a battle between Blue Eye Samurai and Scavengers Reign, with Netflix willing to put the weakest promo campaign behind Blue Eye Samurai winning out over HBO letting the superior Scavengers Reign utterly hang out to dry (after giving the series screening rights up to Netflix after all).
Joseph Bennett, Charles Huettner: Keep making great shit. You have fans. Crowd-fund if you have to. People are here for what you’re serving.
Dr Steve Brule, for your shoulder health…!
You know, nitrous oxide canisters are kinda peg-shaped…
It’s all good! Please keep up the posting and having an eye out for stuff. I would really love the help. :)
Removing this as it’s a repost from yesterday…
I have to say that I’m really skeptical of what I’m seeing here.
The trailer seems to be painting a narrative of a trans person having a road trip with their movie star friend (and a film crew) and learn that the American heartland isn’t as awful as they’d feared and that all her shit is internalized (see: “I’m not really afraid of these people … I’m afraid of hating myself.”). I really hope there’s more to it than that.
I’m midwestern and trans. I know so so so many people who would be pleasant and congenial to my face, then turn right around and vote to take away my health care and civil rights without a second thought (or even imagining that they were being two-faced).
I really hope this trailer is a bait-and-switch; something to get trans-skeptical folks in the door under the guise of reinforcing notions they already had, then pulling the rug out with a more nuanced story.
When you only get one shot, it’s best to not miss.
Gale should be chewing on that book.
I’m curious about the speed variations of the spinning circular piece (positioned to act as the violins’ bow).
From the director of (checks notes)…
That sounds about right, actually.
Boffo comment, socko comment!
I saw a late screening of it as it made its way through the festival cricuit this summer. I fell asleep within the first few minutes and woke up as it was wrapping up. I still wonder if I was snoring.
For anyone wondering, low outlier in the Adventure Time data was season 6, episode 37, Water Park Prank, which was created and directed by series guest animator David “swatpaz” Ferguson and featured significant design differences from the usual series episodes.
On the bright side, all these companies walking away from DEI policies make the Corporate Equity Index’s lists a lot more useful for folks who want to vote with their wallet.
For a while it felt like having a company’s name on the list was perfunctory, which makes it unremarkable.
Doing the right thing before/after it being popular is remarkable, and worthy of my patronage.
Finally, a self-driving car with actual intelligence.
The finale really was setting up a sequel series lead by Coach Beard and Nathan. I’m guessing they made a pilot and it didn’t score as well, which makes me sad.

Jump to page 56 for references to LGBTQIA+ issues, including specific callouts about the challenges of transgender people, as well as committing to pass the Equality Act (which sought to amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity in a variety of contexts).
I’ve learned to not rely on politicians to push for my civil liberties. Politics will not bring about our societal acceptance; it’s the other way around. It’s up to us and our allies to change the minds of the public at large, and then, as like magic, the will for politicians to grant us legal protections will appear.
whoops, wrong community to post to…
