To ignore him would be to ignore the gorilla in the room just because that gorilla is deranged. Excuse me, the gorilla in the room is deranged, that is NOT a gorilla anyone should be ignoring. The media are doing their job by reporting the White House. The Americans fucked up their one useful job by allowing him to be the most powerful man in the world. Again.

Past and future protests can be covered in press releases. Not worth sending a reporter for.
-
The cameras show the signs. That’s the point of the signs. Opposing politicians don’t want to comment.
-
General mood can be covered in seconds by images.
-
Why people are there again is covered by the signs and the aim of the protest. Unless people got lost on their way to the anti-hedgehog protest in the next street.

And we live in a universe where the Tomb Raider and Alien films exist, as well as Elektra, Foxy Brown, and yes even Catwoman.
Don’t trust actors, especially when they are selling something.

No prior experience in building and operating high speed rail.
-
Track standards must be much higher.
-
Track must be completely secure from people and animals, and geology. This means high fences and shallow cuttings set far back from the running lines.
-
The line can only be crossed by bridges or tunnels. No level crossings.
-
Long distances pose issues in crew turnaround.
-
Track must be as straight and flat as possible. North America has space, but also has geography.
-
Reliable catenary power supply.

ohulancutash@feddit.ukto UK Politics@feddit.uk•First police force changes search guidelines for trans women in wake of Supreme Court gender rulingEnglish21·4 days agoIn an immediate, visceral experiential sense they’ve lost protections, but in a legal sense those protections never existed, and the first legal challenge showed they were like smoke in air. hopefully this will shake things up and get some proper substantial protections into law.
Given there was only one writer, and he knew nothing about computing other than how to turn one on, nope.

Turning off a blast furnace destroys it, as the molten iron inside solidifies into a big mass. To prevent the mass, holes can be bored into the bottom to let it drain. This again destroys the vessel. The furnace then has to cool for several months before it can be dismantled and replaced.

ohulancutash@feddit.ukto United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Anti-Trans Ruling in UK Strips Protections From Trans WomenEnglish16·5 days agoThis bombastic style of reporting isn’t helpful. The ruling doesn’t “strip” protections, it clarifies that Scotland made a law based on an error in interpretation of an earlier law, ergo those protections never existed. It further points out that the Equalities Act confers protections on trans people regardless. The protections of the Scottish law were a mirage - insubstantial and not legal.
This is an opportunity to introduce the protections Scotland thought were in force, but actually.
I can see why people are dismayed, but this is procedural law, and a route to more iron-clad protections in the future.

It was founded on lies and lobbying. Remember “taxation without representation”? Americans were on a 90% tax discount compared to the British. America was founded off the back of the particularly idiotic, greedy and gullible, and they’ve continued on that path to present. And some fool gave them weapons.
